I did go to Obsessions one time then in the early evening and it was completely deserted. After walking around and seeing nobody, I started to leave. It's Sunday now. A day of rest. The shopping malls are opening but with only a few shops open. Thanks to unusually low C infections and deaths. I think our morbidity/mortality rate is lower than the regular Flu. The hotels should soon open up slowly as the travel entry restrictions are reduced. I think it will be soon. We're now heading into summer when the temperature fire up into the low 90's on the beach. The bright Hawaiian sun will roast you like a turkey covered with thick oily Hawaiian Tropic. The strong UV lights will even kill the virus inside you better than Lysol or Clorox. Everyone stay safe. C will not wipe out the human race. Just shrink it a little bit. It will pass. For sure.

I didn't say you have to pay for the bar fine each time to have sex with a ladyboy. I don't really think that bosses need to be paid back for a supposed investment either. A bar fine is supposed to compensate the loss of the (ladyboy) dancer who is missing. BUT bar fine prices skyrocketed the past few years. I was told that bars at NEP pushed ladyboys to make as many bar fines as possible in the night. A couple of years earlier, a freelancer met in the street asked me for an extra to pay for the bar fine.
Farang bar owners posting in ladyboys forums sometimes argued the BF also included something like a guarantee not to be scammed. That's a lot of BS.

IMHO, a bar fine deserves to be paid if it compensates for a loss and if the bar brings an added value in the meeting. I noticed that bars (in Bangkok, Phuket, Pattaya or Udon Thani) not only brought no added value but "trained" or "educated" their ladyboys to bargain for extras using whatever arguments : pay a BF, pay a taxi, help their poor family in Issan, prove that we like her etc ...

Why open with no business?

In Nana the companies that own the bars are big. Cascades became Charades which became Fairy Bar then move to Mercury Bar.
Mercury Bar could easily come back any time they want.

In Pattaya why stay open with no business? If you lose your spot there is a zillion others to rent.

The beauty of bars in Thailand is you can find a new place and start operations the same day almost.
Bars usually operate day to day so that is why many seem to be falling now.

The beauty is there is low barriers to entry of the market and many bars can quickly open to meet demand.

Nana Plaza has no leg to stand on. They have been 1/3 empty for years. They can't even rent the whole place out.
So I cannot see them actually kicking good old bars out.
