The condo gives you a full kitchen and washer/dryer, generally better balcony and view than most hotels for the price.
If you try and get an ocean view room on a high floor at a hotel it will cost you plenty usually.
You can control your room service and just have them clean when you want, laundry and groceries are right on the main floor.
This particular condo has an awesome pool better than most hotels in Pattaya.
Location is premium.
Hotels you will get better "service" but more scrutiny, may have a joiner fee up to 1500 baht for each guest.
Possibly better security in hotels, however more people will be able to access your room than a condo.
The condo may belong to someone as a sublet so it may not be perfect like hotel rooms.
Hotels will provide amenities and maybe a mini bar. Condo comes with amenities but you may have to buy more.
Condo you would have to buy your own booze and snacks at 7-11 but i do that in hotels to save money anyway.
Hotel may have a more beautiful lobby and late night check in may be easier.
I find less scrutiny coming in and out with ladyboys at the condo, not that hotels are that bad.
Hotels there is just more people hanging around and more families.
My last 2 times in Pattaya I stayed at hotels.
However I prefer the condo and partly because i like a good swimming pool.
I once stayed at the Holiday Inn Pattaya and got a high floor partial ocean view and it was about $90.
The room and balcony was tiny. That was probably the most comparable hotel.
There is dirt cheap hotels in Pattaya if you don't care about location or comforts.
There is also 5 star hotels that are insane.
Someone once told me they like to stay in a condo in View Talay 1 for $25 USD per night.
It is a bit out of the way but nice view and cheap.
There is many condos on AirBnB but I have tried it in Thailand with mixed success.
It is not actually legal there so you recourse could be limited with that.
You can read my thread in the hotels section.
