I can understand the Russians as other resorts try not to attract them so they all get dumped in Pattaya..most are probably criminals anyway and the wives are probably ex- prostitutes so to them Pattaya doesnt seem seedy but normal.

But why Western families come still perplexes me

Yes it's a dumping ground for the Russians because no-one else will take them. And even the Arabs get a look-in when they vist Pattaya - and let's face it, there's fuck all in Hat Yai, is there!!!

Still - the upside is that if there are Western families walking about the cops generally behave better.

I have to agree about the Russians....on my last trip to Phuket I was lazing happily on the beach when a group of ugly, obese Russian women straight out of Cell Block H arrived and planted themselves down in front of me.

Now I tend get a few acne spots here and there and on this occasion I had a few on my back and shoulders. Nothing not too bad but noticeable I guess if you were paying particular attention. It's never been an issue with any Thai person I've met and most westerners are too well mannered to say anything even if they do notice.

Anyway on this occasion I was lying on a sunbed catching a few rays...I find the sun helps my skin...drying action, Vitamin A etc.

Suddenly these Russian bitches start laughing hysterically and pointing at me while shouting "spots spots" at the top of their voices....they then proceeded to snigger and make comments about me for the next hour before wobbling off to their next pie eating contest.

I cannot overstate just how ugly and fat these women were and yet they felt the need to humiliate me for no good reason.

So that's my rant about Russians....slightly xenephobic maybe but that's my experience. Mind you, I'll keep my opinions to this forum as, where I live, I'm surrounded by them and they all look like they've arrived straight from military service....I wouldn't like to cross them.
