Every time i come in Bkk i stayu in the Atlanta and i think it s a great hotel , it s the oldest one in Bkk , there is a charming atmosphere , a great swimming pool in a nice garden , friendly staff , no sextourists allowed (very important in Bkk) , very good food , and the price is just around 4 or 500 bath but you need to make a reservation ahead cause it s very hard to get a room there at most times

€˜Sex tourist€™ has increasingly become a derogatory term associated with men who travel to Thailand on their own. Usually middle-class women harp on about €˜sex tourists€™ every time Thailand is mentioned; but I€™ve noticed many men saying it too.
The same hypocritical guys you watch porn and love to hear stories of debauchery€¦
How many times have you been at a bar when somebody says
€˜Thailand is great, I love the beaches, cooking and people but I can€™t stand those fat sex tourists€™

The irony is you never hear these people refer to Paul Gauguin, Van Gough or any of the acclaimed painters as sex tourists.

A lot of painters, musicians and writers throughout history have been inspired by prostitutes on their travels. Some of the great works of art today wouldn€™t exist without the sex and companionship of hookers.

Thailand is one of the last places on earth were men can have a good time without those pc morally superior fucks throwing their oar in. They want Thailand turned into mecca for hippies, families and fat chicks to do cookery.

Anyway - there's nothing wrong with the term 'sex tourist' and it's application is appropriate to a great many visitors to Thailand. It would be foolish to pretend that sex tourism doesn't constitute a large segment of the tourist baht.

Also - hotels should quite rightly protect their patrons from whomever they regard as a threat to its' most favoured customers.

Many people (especially families and religous nuts) don't like the seedier side of Thailand rubbed in their faces when they walk into the lobby of their chosen vacation abodes. Many hotels have strict codes of conduct and admittance to favour their preferred type of clientelle.

I, for one, am quite happy to be labelled a sex tourist and be confined to where sex tourists are made welcome. I certainly do NOT want to spoil someone elses holiday by parading my seedy antics in front of families and children.

Thailand tourism makes for a more harmonious melting pot when people stick to their own and don't get their knickers in a twist when someone has a go at them.

Fair enough, but my problem is the high ground and double standards some of these people take when using the term sex tourist.
In the UK there is a kind of stigma attached to an older single bloke traveling to Thailand for a holiday. I obviously shag a few gg/lbs when I€™m on my holidays, but it€™s not the sole reason why I go there.
Some of the reasons I choose SEA over Europe is no families, way cheaper and you don€™t feel out of sorts traveling on your own-well that and the lbs, am I a sex tourist in denial?

I've seen this happening since the very first time I travelled to Thailand, back in the December of 1983. And I was just one of them. Yes..I threw in the usual visits to the temple and the organized obnoxious visits to the gems and handicraft places as well

And how about the "other" places where sex tourism happens?
What do we say about Amsterdam, Hamburg, Brazil, etc.etc.
Sex tourists are there because the country wants them -Like it or not. It's much needed cash that flows in and helps the economy.
If they (governments) REALLY wanted to prevent or stop it, they could have done it in a few months time.

Personally I'm no longer doing that because I feel bored by spending one more minute with a pros after having done what I wanted to. Hnd having sex 3 times a day for one week it's no longer in my interests and within my physical abilities, but when I did it it was some kind of fun

I have stayed at the Atlanta, first trip to Thailand, when it was owned by the old Austrian guy it wasn't a bad place to stay. The original owner died a few years ago and I think his son took over and they have a Welsh manager now.

Walked down there one night to get a bite to eat and make a phone call the girl friend tagged along for kicks and they have a couple of dishes on the menu that are very good. while talking to my son back in the states one of the staff starts giving us the eye, then the owner comes out and looks as if he was about to pop a gasket, I cut him off short by saying me and my wife came to eat and make a call whats up. The owner off in a huff, after the call we leave and I havn't been back since.
