Summary:  Last night I thought about going down to Nana because I was super horny.  Instead I stayed home and did my laundry.  In other words, I'd rather do chores than suffer through the chore of wading though all the CRAP in order to find the one or two diamonds-in-the-shit who occassionally flit through the NEP scene (and then are usually gone after a month or two because they can't stand it there either).

Cascades is too Japanese tourist oriented for my liking, but in fairness not all the LBs there try to look like a hentai wetdream.

Obssessions is pretty much the same, which is hardly surprising as they have (had?) the same owner. At least both bars make an effort to serve a wide variety of drinks and the prices aren't over the top.

Temptations is very hit and miss. I've bar fined a few that have been great in every sense. I've also had to fend off some dogs.

That said, all of them are still much better than Guess. It's true the bar fine is 100 baht less than the NEP bars. That's where the advantages end, as far as I'm concerned. Mind you, I'm not keen on playing pool so maybe I'm biased.

I suppose congratulations are in order to the owners for finding a new location where the toilet is less than 100 yards from the bar. That short stroll down a dingy corridor and into a dirty cockroach infested shithole is a distinct improvement on previous arrangements. Let's not forget the pleasure of being hassled non stop by some of Sukhumvit's skankiest LBs. And if your tastes run to that kind of recreation, a short time hotel is a short taxi ride away.

It's occurred to me that it's probably in my interests if most of the readers disagree with my assessment. That way, you lot get the dubious pleasures of Guess and I get a free run at the much better bars in NEP.

Not sure where you have ever actually travelled to, but on the toilets at the old Guess, we'd eat off the floor compared to others we have seen.

As far as ladyboys there are NONE at Suzy Wong, NONE at Long Gun, NONE at Sheba, NONE at Shark, NONE at Deja Vu, NONE at Dundee, NONE at Spice Girls. If you are seeing ladyboys at any of these places then most likely you are making a wrong judgement or your information is out of date.

In 2008, the only place I have seen ladyobys is Midnight who has a handful of post ops and they do dance as well as perform in on stage shows. They look pretty decent, if you are into post ops. Outside of Midnight I cannot myself confirm a single other ladyboy in all of Cowboy. And believe me, I would love it if there were more around so I am always looking!

If we look at years prior to 2008 things were different. There used to be a bar complex adjacent to Cowboy with many ladyboys in beer bars, but that is all gone now. Yes, Dundee used to have some, not anymore. A few other wait staff or a post op dancer here or there like Rawhide, but those are gone too.

I dunno where these wacko numbers came from... certainly I have seen almost no ladyboys in Cowboy for years.

I was at Cowboy 1 week ago and inside Long Gun, Shark and Dollhouse. Zero ladyboys either postop or pre-op that I could see. I would seriously doubt any of these bars having lbs on staff - its just not their style.

Cant speak for others but for these 3 were lb free.

Thanks for confirming that. I was about to make an appointment to have my eyes checked.

There used to be a few freelancers prowling Cowboy, Soi 23 and on the main road by the bus stop from about midnight onwards. Maybe they still cruise the area. Beware as most of them are pickpockets and quite well organised.

I stand by what I said. It's been a long time since I enjoyed myself at Cassies and it's not my my kind of bar. If you happen to like the place it just proves the old adage about different strokes for different folks.
