TC the issue here isn't the money it's the fact she made an arrangement and then broke it with the old convienient phone call scam, as for LB's having boyfriends I could care less, but maybe they should get things into perspective like for instance who payed for that motorbike? some farangs money eh?

This is getting like a broken record guys. The facts as I know it is that Thaibound gave the girl 3,000 baht - of which 500 baht was for a barfine. So she kept 2,500 for presumably somewhere around 7 hours of company (I think TB had said he met her in the afternoon so I am guessing about 5pm and left just before midnight), during which time it sounds like he got his end away twice, maybe more for all I know. 2,500 baht for 7 hours sounds a pretty fair deal to me, but I still accept TB was expecting her to stay until the morning, but really 2.5k is not exactly bad value for what he got. Presumably thats why TB does not find this such a big issue.

A couple of people are over reacting to this situation - the original poster has said it is now not a big issue, but some people insist on carrying on with it.

Also some of you tend to forget that western cultural values of contract, firm commitment, corporate law, ethics, do not always translate well into Thai.

So then, what is the answer? Well, if you were not happy with the performance only present what you consider fair for the time spent, do not present the whole amount and always expect them to "get it" and take less. By the way, do you think you would get away with that with a western service provider? Hmm, any volunteers?

I think there have been few other threads where so much energy and discussion has been generated by a 1000 Baht difference.

You're telling me you never told your night manager at Kinko's to stuff it because you heard about a rock concert the night you were supposed to work? I bet half of you here quit some teenage job on-the-spot over something just like that. It didn't ruin your life- and as you got older, you learned by looking back at it.

Don't forget what it's like to be half your age, have plenty of options available, and be desirable.

I went about two years ago with what I then thought abeautiful 22 year little lady in Pattaya. Agreed 1500 Baht and gave her the money to go Longtime and everything went smoothly until we came to my room. There she began complaining about being sick; having had an accident down there etc. It ended her sitting before the toilet throwing up. I had pitty told her she could sleep in the separate bed in my room and I went sleeping too. As I would leave for home the next morning she wake me up in the middle of the night telling me she would go home AND gave me my money back.

I did not ask it but she did. Bought her a taxi and said after exchanging telephonenumbers goodbye. After that she kept calling me in Holland and now two years later we have a very LT contact. In the meantime I know she was not sick but feared that if I discovered she was LB I would not like her. Well the opposite happend; My next holiday I spend with her and also coming february it is also 10 days with her.

it *was* a fair price, which is why i "stupidly" offered her all three bills. and i do *not* think it was a "big deal". how a single post about a single ladyboy breaking a single promise (in a land where hundreds of ladies and ladyboys break thousands of promises every day and thousands more when their boyfriends call every night!) became such a huge fucking mess, i have no clue. you'd think i had billy shooting photos of the act for all the play it's getting here!

i only posted again per your request in an attempt to wrap this mess up. i don't know why some people insist on making more of this than it was. *any* rational reading of my post(s) should make clear the single point i was attempting to make that, while fern would be an excellent "short-time", she does not seem to be available for an overnight "long-time" and any desire for such should be taken elsewhere.

if i have said *anything* derogatory about fern beyond this single limitation which prevents her fulfilling any promise of staying the night, i would like someone to point this out to me. yet, somehow i am now being asked to apologize to fern? for what? for paying the full amount agreed upon? for reporting to my fellow forum members that she might take their money for an overnight and then beg off early? who are these people?

it is, perhaps surprisingly, my own opinion that this attention will, *in the long run*, have a positive effect both on fern's performance and her long-term employment. if she grasps the importance of clarity and fulfilling a bargain, combined with what i find to be a beautiful visage and a charming personality, she may be well on her way to becoming a "superstar" who does *not* disappoint. and what a rare thing that would be!

i am personally disturbed by total strangers who judge my actions based on their own misreading, misinterpretation or simple lack of cogent understanding. perhaps i should have cried when informing jay of what had occurred and she would have had jenny and beer immediately go home with me for the night and this thread could have never...
but i suppose i still would have (should have?) "reported" on the event, but perhaps i could have done so more sympathetically. perhaps i could have said nice things about how lovely fern is. how functional. what a great time i had with her. how beautifully she leaned over the pool table. how i would recommend her to anyone for a short-time...
oh, gosh, i did do all those things...if i didn't know better, i'd say i made it appear fern was worth every baht and my *only* negative was her not keeping her "promise"...if my "disappointment" could have been couched any more flatteringly than i have managed it here, i would like to know how.

Why did she apologise to you? I was under the impression from certain members of this forum that she'd done nothing wrong! In fact to listen to certain people on here she was the injured party losing face and all that shit.
She probably apologised to you in the hope of word getting round about what a misunderstood, vunerable young thing she is,

grunyen states in his post how we all made mistakes and bad decissions when we were younger, sure I did, don't deny it, I partied all night slept all day, skipped lectures in college, did the drug thing, all part of life rich tapestry
