How do you dress?

A good ladyboy friend of mine who is on this website often and pretty famous [and on the present cover] said to me recently;  " you know, you are a pretty handsome guy but you usually dress like shit.  why can't you dress more like your friend {Mike}, he still dresses casual  like you but you look like a bum most of the time".

       Pang tells me this all the time also; I consider it a compliment!

  Not really of course, but bottom line is that when I leave the house, anywhere in the world, the main goal for me is to be COMFORTABLE, not to impress other people and especially ladyboy hookers.

           Not to say I don't take pride in my appearance as I do; always closely-cropped hair and well-shaven, try to stay slim and look my best, but to me my 'best' just happens to be a t-shirt, sneakers and shorts for about 350 days a year [weddings, funerals and family shit aside].  That is how I am the most comfortable and if people don't like it, especially ladyboy hookers  who will sleep with any fat slob for 50 bucks, they can go screw.

  so, do you dress to impress or are you mainly concerned with pleasing the guy looking back at you in the mirror?

Hah... I agree totally. Always wondered why some of these punters get all dolled up for hookers... I mean... they're hookers. One of the greatest things about hookers is that I CAN dress any way I damn well please without worrying about impressing anyone... no first date bullshit!

I am conscious of the way I look to other people especially girls and even P4P girls. I like to smell good and would not dream of going out without a thorough clean, shave and shower, etc.

Thais can be a bit finicky about their cleanliness and appearance and I would NOT want to chat up a girl (even a hooker) looking like a slob.

I believe that the girls will warm to you and open up more if you are obviously clean and presentable.

well, we have met before and I think you'd agree I fit that criteria

  but for the guys who spend big cash on clothes, jewelry, cologne and other stupid shit and then go to Qbar or even worse, Nana Plaza, trying to impress some skank who will go home with him for 50 or 60 bucks regardless; I don't get it.

I liked Mardhi right away when I met him, Monkey Man also......basically because they were dressed like me!

When I was in LOS made a point of going to pratanum market and buying couple of pairs of Trousers and a few shirts ( which I now wear in the office) cheap enough so I don't really see it as going out my way to impress.

No way would I go and buy stuff from somewhere like Siam Paragon just to pick up a Nana LB

I used to wear expensive Hugo Boss Business suits everyday for work in Asia and since I have set up my own company - I have never worn one of them. Even when I go and see my $500 an hour lawyer or govt officials, nothing more than a semi formal shirt and trousers, often just chino's and a polo shirt. When I go out, I very rarely look smart - why? No need I have cash in my pocket and that seems to do enough to impress the people I need to impress. My staple uniform is a simple t-shirt or polo and jeans, albeit sometimes they are Hugo Boss Jeans and armani t-shirts but no Thai would know that or even if they spotted it, they would assume its a fake.

Showered and shaved...but only polo shirt, levi 501's (I am real old school) or shorts...sometimes khakis...no shoes nor socks...but that's the way I dress at home...But when I get back to the room, I'm naked...and that's the real scary part...

My Western girlfriend told me that too!    

She's European and seemed to think Americans are slobs and me especially so.

In the winter i wear jeans and sweatshirts.  In the summer shorts and Tshirts.  And I rarely shave on weekends.

In Thailand i dress a little better than at home.  Somehow I got the idea that jeans are hot in the tropics so generally wear chinos instead.  And at night I'll generally wear a button down short sleeve shirt.

And i probably take 5 showers a day in the LOS.

I don't care for any jewelry even watches.  just a waste of money since it doesn't give me pleasure to wear and I don't need to impress.
