The marketplace determines the price between a buyer and a seller - its no different with a LB hooker to the price of a fillet of cod. Lessen the supply and the price goes up, flood the market and the price will fall. Over the last 2 years, the LB buying market has grown considerably (just think how long ago it was that you only had Casanova as a LB bar) and the demand for the 'premium' cuts has shot up. If the demand drops - the price will go down. Every Thai is trying to get a higher price out of the 'rich' farang but its up to the buyer to say if they are prepared to pay it and up to the seller if they are prepared to accept a counter price offer. Nothing has changed and this debate is getting meaningless. Basically if you want a 'value' experience - you should not be going anywhere near Nana period. It does not represent the best value in Thailand - things have moved on and just accept it and handle it accordingly.

Once again the price debate raises its ugly head! I guess it would not be the forum without this discussion once or twice a year or so!

For the guys who complain about raised prices putting BKK off their travel plans if the ST rate goes up from 1000 to 2000 Baht, get real! There is no way this is going to happen in the near future with the ever increasing number of new lbs coming into the scene. In one sentence someone wrote, I would gladly pay European prices in Europe, but no way I am going to pay that in Thailand. From what I have read the going rate in Europe is 250 Euro for an hour of what can usually be described as non-descript sex. 250 Euro = 11,750 Baht. Just how fast do you think it will take for the rates in Thailand to get to that level? By the way 2000 Baht = 43 Euro. So according to your statements when Thai prices reach Euro prices you will stop going to Thailand. On the other hand someone also said 2000 Baht ST is too much and will again stop visiting Thailand. Hmm, methinks this is complaining based on a fear that is totally illogical.

By the way someone said that inflation is not a factor in Thailand. Do you know if the rents have gone up for the ladies? Do you know if the electricity rate has gone up for them? How about the charges for water, television, taxis, buses, food, clothes, makeup? Well, I can tell you the prices have gone up just like any other country.

So once again, if you choose to skip LOS because of an irrational fear that prices will reach the European levels in the near future, it is "up to you", and those who know Thailand is lb heaven will continue to go there. You can go to Europe and enjoy those 250 Euro/hr beauties (or maybe by that time it may hit 500 Euro/hr).

Also the debate about the superstar attitude, just how many lbs do you think reach this status? It surely is a fraction of the total lbs working in the bar/escort scene and their time of fame is generally quite limited. So unless you want to see a superstar you can have a fantastic time with an lb who will accept your rate of 1000 Baht for ST.

I've known one girl in NEP for over 4 years and we have always had as good a relationship one could expect to have with a bar girl. Saw her late last year and paid her the usual amount.
