OK, so I finally got around to going to the Guess Bar.
I'd have to say that it's a nice little place.
The bar staff is friendly and laid back. Nobody demanded a tip and so therefore, everybody got one (see how that works you fucking Nana waitstaff skanks? Don't ask and thine shalt recieve)
Jay was a bit too friendly, but that's not a bad thing at all!
It was an off night, not many customers in there, so the girls didn't have much to do. Therefore, I was lucky enough to recieve the Guess Bar Special from several of them.
It wasn't on the menu, but I'm officially naming it the Guess Bar "Pillow Job".
Those of you who've been there before, will know what I mean .
Anyway, Jay's got a nice operation, and I did something I've never done in a go-go bar in Bangkok before: I bought a second drink (and a third eventually).
No, I didn't bar fine anyone there that night (too tired, it was at the end of a long day), but that shouldn't concern Jay or the girls who work there. A customer doesn't have to barfine someone every time they walk in for it to be a profitable night.
From Jay's perspective, she made triple the alcohol sales off me than any other bar in Nana has managed. So if she keeps up with the cool, laid-back atmosphere, she'll do very well.
Plenty of bars exist solely off the profits from liquor sales alone! Shocking, I know, but true. So Jay will make plenty of money even without the barfines.
As for the girls, they didn't catch me this time, but that doesn't mean I'll never be back.
I scouted the place out. Saw some girls come and go that I might take out eventually, but basically I was allowed to take my time and make the selections I wanted.
Only a stressed out yaabah addict would get pissed off about not immediately barfining every chucklehead that walks through the door (so the fact that they didn't get pissed off or pressure me for a bar fine is a good sign that they are not drug addicts).
Those girls will make plenty of money and eventually they'll make some money from me too, but in the mean time, it's good that they enjoy sitting and chatting with me, some playful teasing, and of course, the Pillow Job.
All good fun.
So kudos to Jay. Keep it up.
