Just to put this into perspective - Jay has told me since she opened the bar she has had more offers to go than when she was working at KC3. She has lost count of the amount of guys that have offered her between 5k and 10k for a quick fuck. Who is offering these unsolicited prices? members of this and other forums. She told me last week she had an email from a guy offering her $2000 a day for a weeks stay in Europe and he would pay the airfare. She showed me the email and its all there in black and white. Certain girls attract huge attention and CAN command huge incomes, whether individual guys agree with it or not. Does Guess attract higher income guys ? I'm sure it does as its a cut above the other bars. Does it translate into a higher than Bangkok average requirement from the girl, I dont think so but I stand to be corrected. I would assume, the average punter pays what he feels happy with in terms of overall experience and ambience. One thing I can state categorically though is that my favourite beer is 110 baht in guess and 130 baht in Nana - sorry never paid a girl in Guess but I really doubt their expectations are higher than the girls working in Nana.

When you consider a ST price of 2,000 Baht along with the recent increases in air fares, hotel room prices, drinks, and food (farang food), Thailand is IMO no longer worth making the trip.

Clearly it is a matter of money for you or you would not even be talking about it.

Of course this is not the standard price in Guess bar as that is between you and the girl and these girls are smart enough to know not to price themselves out of the market when Nana is around the corner.

So don't make the trip if it is too expensive for you. More for me

one guy drinking with me last week told me that one semi-superstar had quoted him 4k for a LT in Nana - she would not move on the rate so he found someone else.

TTChang - same experience, same outcome!  The delightful LB suggested I save up so I could afford her

Haven't been to Guess yet, although will defiantely check it out in January. I think rather than talking about the principle of how much you pay, you should check it out and then see if you think you are getting value for money. If not you don't have to go back and Nana is 5 minutes away.

There is absolutely no evidence the market has been ruined and the few people who have said so on this forum have never proven it. There are some "superstars" who will charge more, but certainly the average lb bargirl will not be charging 2000 Baht ST in Nana. Also everything is open to negotiation - so if you find that your limit of 1000 Baht ST is exceeded, then certainly you will be able to find another willing partner for that sum of money.

By the way, you name another country where you can find lbs of the same beauty and availability for the kind of sums we are talking about and I'll buy you a beer at Guess Bar!

The difference between 1000 and 2000 Baht is 1000 = around 29 USD - so if that turns Thailand into a no go zone for some, that is "up to you".

I have not and would not pay that for Jay. Just my opinion. People will, and always will though, pay more for what may be considered forbidden fruit.

Tell someone you can't have something, they normally want it a lot more than they did before.

Of course it is not just that, but bar owner or not makes little difference to most customers.

But what does all this have to do with the pillow job? Is there a prize for winning the correct weight? Is there a monthly league to see which customer has the most best guesses?

i haven't 'priced' a girl at guess bar yet (might tonight if my fave superstar fails to respond), but i can say that the night after i thought i had figured out that all the nana girls had semi-unionized to set price at 1500ST and 3000LT, i hit two in a row for 1000ST. one even made the housecall to my hotel and i didn't even have to put on my shoes. ; ) go figure. i can't.
and yes pattaya is *clearly* cheaper, so if price is the *only* thing that matters stick to hiboss and stringfellows and a ton of beach road freelancers and your smaller budget will last a lot longer.
but boy oh boy will you be missing some beauty in bangkok...

  glad to see you are having fun, but prices down here in Pattaya are up, Hi Season artificially adjusted i suspect & bar fines are being quoted at 1000baht, JSB pre madonna crew are asking 5000baht ST!! Errr, ok only another couple of hundred+ to choose from I'll give it a miss thanks.

  I can understand compensation tax for having to go with a Frankenstien like me tho'.

To approximate.. you have the supply curve and the demand curve.. where they meet is the price . If for instance the beautifull Sonya ( ex Obs) were to charge only 1000 for a short time then she would in fact be losing money as there are many punters who will pay 2000.
