hey guys... road runner great post and i am happy your numbers are in line with mine... this 2000, 3000st is just crazy.. especially hearing girls like jeje are attempting to get this kind of money... part of the reason a like thailand so much is the price of sex.. ie; many times i will take a girl or LB st and if it is not working out.. well guys, for the paltry price of a 100bt i will just move on and try another girl.. if the price skyrocketed up to three thousand bt st it would serious hamper my ability to spread the baht around and a good time..

also i understand dr john's point of view somewhat.. the poverty is real in thailand and i reccomend to everybody in the site to go to a ladyboy's room sometime... it is an eye opener... small rooms, no airconditioning, a hose and a bucket for a shower.. i have seen it up close and it gets to you... however dr john, when i set a price with a girl or she sets it with me, thats it... and the most i will ever pay st is 1500bt.. tops!!.. that to me is a fair rate vis a vis what most people make as wage in thailand..but i do like to generous with hotel staff, internet cafe workers, etc.. as a rule every couple of days i will give my room maid a couple hundred baht... it makes me feel good and those maids probably do not make 4000bt a month...

botton line for me guys is i believe my price is fair for the bar gilrs in thailand.. and when i 'throw my money around', it to people that most deserve and need a littlle exta money. not the bar girls or ladyboys... rod

This talk of poverty in Thailand to me is crap as they may be poor according to our standards but there are certainly no children dying of starvation.

Part of the problem is that you will always get two types of Farang in Thailand.

1. Locals and those who live in the region.
2. People on vacation.

If you are a local (I live in Vietnam but come about twice a month to BKK on business) it is obviously in your interests to watch what you pay the girls. In the 3 years that I have been coming to Bkk prices have gone crazy.

E.g in August 2000 a girl who now works in Obs asked me for 750 LT. Now I hear she's asking 2,000 ST and up!

However if you are a tourist from Arkansas or Auckland who may only ever visit LOS once in his life, then you don't really give a f**k what you pay - as long as you have a great holiday. Hell at 2am after 10 Singa's you probably can't even remember if 5,000 bht is equivilent to USD$5 or USD$500 - and what's more do you really care?

This is of course a complete bitch for those of us who then have to contend with LB inflation - but I don't think there is much we can do about it.

My advice is rock past Nana at 2.05am and pick up a LB there for less than half the cost of taking her from a bar.

Also the hotel that I regularly stay at does not admit LB's - therefore I often go back to their apartments. Please be assured none of the girls from Casonovas that I have been with (about 6) live in shitholes!!!
