Two Ladyboys arrested in Walking Street bar

From Pattaya City News:-

"Police Captain Somporn from Pattaya Police Station was called to the Linda Bar on Walking Street after receiving information of a theft which had just taken place at the location. The victim of the alleged crime is Mr. Tim Hallacy aged 61 from America. He claimed that he was drinking inside the bar when he was approached by two Ladyboy€™s. One spoke with him whilst the other came up behind him and stole a wallet and a mobile phone from his pocket. Mr. Hallacy fought back and the commotion led to a member of staff calling the Police. The two suspected thieves, Khun Wachira aged 31 and Khun Witoon aged 25 were detained and Mr. Hallacy and the two suspects were taken back to the Police Station where he explained the chain of events to officers. Both transsexuals accepted the allegations of theft and were charged accordingly."

This could be fun when the pictures get posted in the next day or so.  Wonder if the criminals will be out in time for Dummy Plugs "voyage of discovery" tour to Sin City!!!!!

I once wandered into the bathroom at Linda Bar and found a ladyboy sort of kneeling on the ground and a Thai cop standing abover her. Not sure what was going on , she wasn't giving head.

Figured I'd mind my own business.

What I find interesting is the statement both ladyboys "accepted" the "allegation" of theft. It always seems like the farang is going to get the short end of the stick if involved in any kind of incident right off the bat!

This is the case in Phuket ... the local police are tight with the local community, and fleecing tourists is the local sport. Phuket is another shithole to avoid (worse than Pattaya in my opinion). Stick to BKK

Just I carry an old wallet with just enough cash for a night and a copy of my passport and visa... and a crapy old phone.

The passport, driver€™s license, credit cards, etc... All locked away in the hotel safe.

Not yet but they will. Typically the Pattaya City News adds photos the next day to the headline news stories. I just can't help it but I love reading that news paper!

I was also one of the suckers who got robbed in front of the police station on Beach Road.I did read your warning, but wasn't even aware that I was walking on Beach Road(was my first hour in Pattaya).Luckily I only lost 4000 Baht and nothing else.

The 2 who robbed me, one muscular LB and one skinny one did not even bother to run away.They just continued strolling around in the same area.I went to the police who told me to come back the next day.What's that?

I guess Thailands' "red light" areas are still safer than most places but don't become too complacent.
