Of course the cheap sex is the main draw but I love Thailand beyond the cheap sex.

If everybar was closed, I'd still go since I have phone numbers.

If I had no phone numbers I'd go to Bali or the PI.

If none of these places existed I'd still occasionally go to the LOS. The airfare may be double the Carribean but the break even point in money is only a few days. I'd bring a western babe to Ko Samet, Ko Sukorn, Ko Phangan, just about Ko Anywhere.

well, I gotta tell you Squirly, with just one trip to bkk under my belt, 2nd one is this april, there is no place in this world like bkk for ladyboys, amazing variety, numerous bars to visit just in nana, and the sideshow from big dog's is indescribable and tha alone is worth the plane trip., as has been said, save your money on anyone else, and go to bkk, it'll open your eyes

I have over 80 countries visited under my belt now, I have either worked or had holidays in them, & for some reason i go back to the LOS & Philippines & South America. I spend at least 6 months a year on the road sometimes more!!
Unfortunately no western countries feature in my favourite holiday destinations. Over priced, rubbish service, poor food, crap hotels, poor attitude, too many larger louts / yobo's, the list is nearly endless.
The LOS & too a lesser extent the Philippines are much nicer prospects. To all the cynics, me included, take away the sex & I would go elsewhere, probably South / Latin America. But it is a complete package in the LOS, the icing on the cake is the sex & LB's / GG's. I enjoy the food the sensibly priced everything, lack of attitude. What is wrecking everthing is the tourist horde & the ever increasing number of ex spanish / greek package tour drunken idiots & the influx of ex eastern block tourists. These people have absolutely no respect for anything least of all the people, & are making the Thais loose there smile.
The King is right when he said his country is being poluted & corrupted by the western visitors, ( altho' I suspect the corruption has always been part of the Thai way ).

Tho's of you who have not made it yet, hurry up the rot has set in

I don't agree that the westerners have polluted this country or any other.

Westerners generally bring in cash, which generally means better quality in everything, roads, hotels, restaurants, bars, and even service in some cases. You ever go to Issan where there are no westerners? Just try the quality of the service or food or cleanliness. Why do the restaurants and bars improve year by year in places like Samui, Phuket? Because the westerners demand it.

Also, there are a fuck of a lot more drunken Thais than there are westerners in Thailand. We are only a pin-prick in reality.

All that being said, I have no time either for lager-louts who drink till they puke, harass the women, pick a fight, and piss on the street. However, they are not ruining Thailand or any other place.
