Hi!
My understanding of this forum is that I have to go to Thailand to meet these nice Lady (boys).? O.K.
However i dislike to simply travel and to look what I will get.
That's why I would prefer to start any relation in advance from here (via forum, mail, letter) etc. I will go there only If I would have been abale to establish a relation before. Because I would like to have a long-term relation only!

depends what you mean with relation.
they are not to keen on sending emails, but you can try to call them. buy a telephone card for asia, and you will get away quite cheap.
however, they are solely after whats inside your pocket and i doesnt necessarily mean your dick. so if you want them to "love" you before you meet, you will be in for a hell of a ride.
would you have a longterm and longdistance relation with a prostitute? do you care shes fucking and sucking numerous sex tourists everyday?

from what i have learned and most of the guys that have been to thailand some times, is that these ladies, ggs or lbs, are for fun not for relation. and that is what they want for themselves to. a quick fuck and money, and then head of to their friends, bfs or family, to sleep, eat or watch tv.

if you really want a longterm relation you should look outside the bar scene, even there many of the same traps apply ..

i am new to this board but i have alot of experience with ladyboys. if a relationship is what you want...try to hook up with the ladyboys in the philippines. they are more similar to western culture nd many of them ARE looking for long term relationships and boyfriends/significant others from europe and the usa. the thais are not into western culture and are more into sticking with themselves.

Well, tonidaves, I don't agree. Having been married to a Filipina, now divorced, and now with a Thai LB girlfriend living in Bangkok, I'd say I have some experience. By the way, my Filipina wife "stuck" to her own friends in Canada and almost ignored me. My Thai GF is currently "sticking" to me.

Filipinas are not the same as Western culture in any way. Nor are Thais. We are all different. The key is which pair of people work or not.

However, I find the simplest test of all things is to imagine what you want to do with an Asian girl, and imagine you doing that with a culture you know (say Austria? Switzerland?). If you think u can send e-mail to an 18 yr old hooker in Austria and create a relationship, you probably can in the Philippines too. If you think that makes no sense in Austria, it's true it makes no sense in the Philippines or Thailand too. Poverty does not mean stupidity.

So, as Tomcat said, as you would in your own culture, go there and meet people. That is how relationships are done worldwide.

How many of us here have a Filipina ex wife? Add me to that list. At least in my case, when we divorced she didn't take me to the cleaners so to speak, and now that we are not married or living together, we are actually good friends and we help each other in many ways when possible.

But, you fellows are correct, trying to establish a serious long term relationship is fraught with pitfalls. I have communicated with some ladyboys before meeting them in Thailand, for the most part it worked out fine. But ones that I just met and talked to for the first time once I got there has been as good or better.  
One does not need anything lined up beforehand, because once you're there, the possibilities are endless.

I was lucky - she came from an old-money family, didn't try to take me to the cleaners, just cooperated in a mutual desire to end it as amicably as possible once it was clear it would not work (and she had her green card - the one item riches cannot buy in her country)

Still, it could have gone much, much worse

As far as trying to find a relationship via internet, e-mail, etc without making the trip - in a phrase, "get real"

My experience in my current in dating relationship - one where we both have pledged to do our best to make it work for each other - the differences in culture, language, and age still pose strong challenges

I cannot imagine trying to overcome these obstacles without being here in person

While you may find someone you are attracted to via the 'net, you will have soon have to make the investment of time and money to get your ass here to know if it will work

A few of the old hands here know how to go fishing on BKK chat and maybe meet new contacts, but i only do that now if im in Bankok and can meet the same day or week.

I hesitate to give this advice out to everyone because you have to know the protocol about not wasting time and not turning up etc etc .
