just got back from a business trip so catch up time. Well I am not surprised what I can only describe as a cynical viewpoint from Mandy et al and I do understand were your coming from. Your 1 example of a ladyboy holding down a good job and making lots of money is CERTAINLY the EXCEPTION rather than the RULE in my experience ! I know many so called ladyboys that work in local government or superstores as managers etc but these so called ladyboys are not the ladyboys Jaidee features here like Noon or Areeya. These ladyboys are guys with short hair, dress like males but wear lipstick or paint there nails and call themselves ladyboys !!! They get these jobs because they dont offend the thai norm and essentially look and dress like guys who occasionally wear make -up and so yes there are literally 100's of these types of ladyboys who live relatively regular jobs !!!
If you are in Thailand I urge you to watch the thai film - " Iron Ladies" - that goes some way to explain how Katoey are protrayed, reviewed,abused and live in thailand !!!!!!!

I'm not trying to point out that all ladyboys are rosy, sweet and loving - far from it - but it does not cost you cynics a single copper coin to give ladyboys the benefit of the doubt even when we know that the reason some cheat, lie and steal is because unlike you and me they don't live in a welfare state, looking forward to a pension when they grow old !!!

Wise wise words as always my friend and Guru ! You are so right about this, maybe I should have gone for bronze. But TC I'm a person who never, never settles for 3rd place ! I go for the top, the gold medal, scale the highest mountain or sail the stormiest sea !!! Maybe I like the challenge of turning a scenario that everybody else has written off into an unbelievable success !!!

But reality needs to feature and so does calculated risks and common sense as well you know you highly educated professional. The stakes were high but the conditions proved unreasonable - there was no room to negotiate. The conditions were so one sided only a sucker would prevail. Like you said - Sanity rained but that was always going to happen despite the emotional pain - the brain kicked in because if you understand what it takes to survive then instinct and gut feeling takes over !

Well..I do not live in Bangkok too. In fact, from what I read from others' postings, I'm probably one of the least qualified to talk in here since I'm downthere for 2-5 days a time and 2-3 times a year, and for business trips only

I agree that the majority of "normally" employed calling themselves ladyboys are of the type you just said. Basically, those are non-closet blatantly gays and showing it off. But no, I skip them and I refer to the "real" ones, or at least those that they look as much as they can as females. Again, the lines dividing gays from lb's, femboys from lb's, and so on are everything but concrete highways! We all know that!

Now, if we think when going to pay for our gas bill in BKK you may slam into an Areeya at the payments counter, well..I guess we are aiming for a long shot. looker i go for holiday i work for myself so no problem to get time off.
i have just been with 4 friends 3 guys n 1 girl.

You have got me wrong dear boy. The reply was just slightly tongue in cheek. I mean how can you give sex tourism a bad name ....

Of course us Admirers do have sex , naturally, its just that it tends to be a more delicate affair with an air of decorum rather than a scene from a Zoological public advice film that they use to teach schoolkids about the birds and the bees.

You know, I'm reading this stuff, and I'd just like to add this little bit...

I was married twice. Divorced twice. Both times to Asians, non-working girls. In both cases, I feel I got "screwed" by my wives, who, I thought, had somewhat twisted minds. 50% of marriages end in divorce, usually with the guy (and girl) thinking the other was an unbelievable ass. We all know friends who had very, very bad experiences.

So, I'm just struggling to understand why a LB is any different from a girl in this regard. My view is GG's are just as f'g bad as LBs for relationships. And we are just as bad as they are.

As for working vs non-working, I'd suspect working girls have been taken advantage of and lied to by more guys than any of us. As such, they tend to do the same; perhaps a little revenge there. But, when you are smart and can weed out those types, a "nice" non-working girl, in my opinion, is the same as a non-working girl. I think many of us also know those type of girls.

So, I still have the opinion that an honest LB (working or non-working) is no different from a GG, and both are bad at relationships (as are we).

The only real difference I can see is that LBs start to look like guys when they get old. That certainly is a big difference, but it's not a difference in how their minds work. If anything, a male mind is more compatible with our own minds, but the acceptance of a male looking face and body may be too difficult to take for a long-term relationship (say, when they hit 35-40).
