Crime and the passport nazis and drug testing

Read recently about the passport raids and drug tests.Anyone come across this nuisance from the police?.Im wondering if I have to carry my original passport everywhere I go.Also how can they do a on the spot urine test{I assume} They cant get weed results for a week.In 2000 there was a mugger in the stairwell at Nana plaza.I was in theNana restaurant when a fellow traveler pointed the guy out to me who was eating alone.He was a large thai with something hidden sticking out of his back pocket.The traveller told me he helped someone break free from this large thai guy.I wanted to go over and attack this bum but I probably would have landed up in jail.Anyone have any crime problems in Los? Do they sell poppers in Los and r they legal.Damn too bad they r so tough on weed there.

MY suggestion is that u briung a copy of your pport with you.  If your hotel room has a safe, keep the original there.  Copy the picture page with your personal data, plus the page with your Thai stamps.  I have never had a copy rejected.

If you go to places like Ratchada 4, you will often be asked for it.

Urine tests are commonplace in the dance clubs, but not so much at the go go areas.  

Mystique and Q Bar get hit very frequently.  It is a huge nuisance. Yes, MJ stays in your system quite a while.  Worth considering.

There was a long discussion on the FLB board about poppers.

People seemed to say that poppers are illegal in the LOS.

It was also pointed out that poppers and viagra is a dangerous combination.

In my youth, I occasionally used this stuff marketed under the trade names of Rush and Locker Room which was kindof like poppers and sold in head shops. Putting the bopttle to my nose cused the skin on my nose to peel. But it was nice to take a snort before eating some pussy.

After they started the raids about 6 months ago, night clubs would only accept passports - but then a few weeks after that they started accepting copies again.

As for drug tests, what I heard recently is they let the Farangs leave and ONLY tested the Thais. I'm not sure if thats a new policy or just what they decided to do that night.

My advice, make a photocopy of your passport AND immigration form AND visa stamp. As for drug testing...don't take drugs (or diet pills, or eat poppy seed bagels).

I wouldn't call urine tests commonplace - never had one myself. A high profile place like Q-Bar might have one every 10 weeks or so.

how can u get into trouble for having trace amounts of drugs in your blood? one of the posts said about mj staying in the system. if farang, can easily say that u had in other country if they do not catch u with the stuff. sorry...just sounds strange. i think they could only do something if they catch u high.

Yes, especially the dance clubs like Q-Bar, Mystique and the whole Silom, soi 2 (DJ-Station, etc.) have frequent raids AND piss tests. Also the (secret) late night spots like the great one in soi 1 got raided recently - and strangewise not closed?? (T.I.T.) A copy of my passport (incl. visa stamp and immigration paper as well as a business card of the hotel I'm staying) was always enough - but I'm sure there are no rules on that only lazy cops. For the piss test they use indicators like you use for a pregnancy test and they work pretty accurate. It depends what you took but in general (pot, xtc, coke) you can say drugs can be traced in your body for about a week. So be careful what you took before you came to LOS. The brown guys don't give a shit where you took it as long as your test is positive.

Snicks right about the Poppy Seeds... avoid them at all costs! Heroin is made from the Poppy plant and the seeds contain opiates that the drug test looks for... even if these opiates have no drug effect on you when you eat them on a bun they still will cause the drug test to give a false positive and off to jail you will go.

Within two minutes the liquid in the tube will separate, and if the lower portion is violet or dark blue, police know that ya ba substance is in the person€™s blood. I have never been tested and I am clean in any case. I told the story up here once how they went into Lava on Khoa San, a whole platoon of those black-booted assholes. when the white people [only] started coming out I asked one of them what was up; he says " they are doing drug testing in there of all the Thai people, they let the falangs go".

poppers not illegal in the US--Pot--a slap on the wrist for small quantity--no drug tests here--breathable air--roaches not on steroids--choice of climate conditions-great infrastructure--now if only the lbs were $20 bucks!

expensive? u euros r buying up all the clothes and jewelry in New York and the new condos in Miami.U can get free lbs action on the spot in one place maybe two.They r both in San Francisco.One is called the Power Exchange.I scored all six times I went there with beautiful asian lbs.Its an on premise sex club.Check the website.Also there is a bar called Divas where the last time I met a hot Vietnamese lb looking for a boyfriend.She was a haircutter.I live in Florida and there is no dedicated lb bar here but plenty of paying lbs.If u try hard enough u can meet an lb with a job but like all women eventually they will hit u up for a few bucks.

If you're going for 30 days or less, just show up.

If you're going for more than 30 days best to get a 60 day visa at a Thai consulate in the USA.

More than 60 days not sure.

You can always go to Camodia or Malaysia for the day and the clock starts over on the 30 day deal.
