daveduke007, ozzie, generouschap, Bam, Torurot, PigDogg,

I'd like to thank you for your insight and also for taking the time to provide helpful posts. It is appreciated and what I was looking for.

      ziggystardust,

Thank you for the psychoanalysis but if you read my post you'd see that I clearly mentioned that I had "NO problem being with a LB". I never said anything about being concerned about "how I look" to other people. I really don't give a shit how I look to other people. They can THINK whatever the Hell they want. As soon as they take the initiative to open their mouth and start making "snarky" comments is when I get pissed-off. It's disrepectful. I don't do it to others and won't stand for it when it's done to me or someone I'm with. It's a matter of self-respect with me.

I did, foolishly on my part, make the assumption that when I said "drunken hooligans" it would be understood by all, and not just by some, that I was referring to falangs and NOT Thai's. In my opinion you're absolutely correct when you say,

That thought never entered my mind.

In response to their snarky comments you usually just sat near them and hugged your LB even more??? Sounds to me like you cared enough to react to their comments. Were you trying to encourage their comments by sitting near them and playing off them by hugging your LB even more?? Were you looking for it to escalate to something more than just comments? If not, why didn't you just ignore them, which is what I think you meant when you said to me, "Don't care and nothing happens." It sounds to me like you might've had something to prove. If not to them, maybe yourself, maybe both. Get it?

      stogie bear,

I don't believe you. Something tells me that you've read a lot of things dumber than my post.

You've never seen a macho a-hole in Bangkok? Never ever? Never ever??? That says a lot.

You should get out more. By the way, if you do, be careful as there are muggers out there. Unless, of course, you've never seen one. In that case, they never existed. Never ever.

      oilbaron,
When I first started reading your response I thought to myself, "Good, an insightfull post that might be helpful". That is until I got to the part that said,

Where the Hell does this come from? Did I refer to myself as "a hard core 6ft4 fighting machine" anywhere? Was the suggestion of a few at Lumpini some sort of an invite? Or, was it a recomendation? I read it a few times and, each time, I got the same impression. What's the story?

      PigDogg,
A few posters seemed to get where I was coming from with my question but I think you made it even clearer to me. I guess I was wondering if the potential for problems truly existed or if it was just a relatively unfounded concern in my head. From the posts, the sincere ones anyhow, I gather that the potential, albeit very small, does exist but, as in your example, being overly concerned is probably unwarranted. Thanks.

I have never really encountered a problem , but once i was on the back of a motor-bike with my ladyboy in Kanchanaburi when some of the locals Thais were smiling at us... hehhehe well the joke was on them when my girl yelled out to them, Yim ta Mai ! which means SMILE for WHAT! or why you smile ? hehhe
i have never forgot that saying and use it all the time for a joke.

Last November i was walking back to my hotel from tony disco in Pattaya with my ladyboy who was looking very sexy in short skirt we entered a 7 eleven and the semi attractive thai girl just stared at my HOT looking ladyboy, you should have seen the look on her face when i said Yim ta Mai! hehheh

And another time i was walking with Dao back from Tony again one night , we both had a few drinks and were a little merry when these Thai guys yelled to her 'Lon ru Mai" which means HOT or NOT , again very funny . so a couple of little smart ass comments like these are priceless in the LOS..

            Hey rexy yim thammai

By the way it is not "'Lon ru Mai" but "rorn reuh mai" where the rorn sounds like yawn.

              Hi Oilbaron...

There are better (and certainly livelier) forums for these kinds of comments. Many of our members are Japanese and religeon is a non-issue here.

I'm sure that what you wrote was not intended to be offensive or provocative, but anyone seeing that post may assume that we (as a group of ladyboy lovers) condone slagging off nations and religeons.

We don't and nobody working for AsianTS.com thinks that way at all.

You may want to think about editing that post,

I disagreed with that line but got sidetracked here at work and so forgot to respond. Comments like that should be discouraged on this forum. No further comments required.

ozzie and rextcy26. My understanding is that reu and mai are not used together. Mai is the general question word and reu, usually pronounced lor informally, is used on its own or with bplao or yang, meaning or not, or yet or not. Reu means or.

                ie rawn mai - hot?
rawn reu bplao - hot (or not)? More direct than using mai,
but not as impolite as it seems in English and
                perfectly acceptable to use.
rawn reu yang - hot (yet or not)?

Informally you would say rawn reu/lor? - Hot?

Also I have never heard rawn used in the sense of hot/sexy as we do in English. I believed it was only used in a temperature sense.

However my Thai is far from being fluent so I could be wrong

Simon "rorn reuh mai" is slang. It does not always make sense to translate things literally such as bpen bpai mai dai meaning "impossible".

I feel proud. I've been called a psychoanalyst.

Continuing my psychoanalysis, I'd say you don't really like receiving feedback very much. If you don't, don't post! Getting tough, brutal feedback, right or wrong (and there is no wrong) is good for the ego.

PS. I'm hugging my LB in retaliation right now, and loving it.

Yes, I do tend to lose it fairly easily when someone disrespects me, or the person I'm with, for no reason.
This is what i was commenting on with what you said, I am just trying to help you out here, if you have outbursts when angry, thats why i mentioned lumpini for you, its a great place to relieve stress and clear the mind. But the best medicine is a good blow job from a right babe.

Is it just me or is that comment a bit creepy!

If you are a big fella prone to violence if you don't get respect in da 'hood or some little fella disses yer missus then maybe you should stay indoors, mate.

Thailand is NOT the place to bring an attitude. You may win a couple of battles, but the Thais will win the war.

You won't find the 'macho' types in Bangkok looking for a fight in Bangkok. You may finds a few ass-holes in Pattaya if you look hard enough for them.

Actually I lived in America (Texas mostly) for 13 years and I didn't have any issues with Macho types... now - Mexico... that's a whole other story!

Thailand - Come - have fun - cum again then leave!

I have NO problems being with this LB but don't need the hassles that my attorney can't get me out of in a foreign country. Yes, I do tend to lose it fairly easily when someone disrespects me, or the person I'm with, for no reason.
                              Abusive drunks not tolerated here

                              Police public service message

At the time of his arrest, the identity and nationality of the tattooed foreigner pictured here was unknown. He lost his shirt and lost control of his mind after consuming excessive amounts of booze.

The 35-40 year old man was verbally abusing people along the street and causing an unsightly scene until residents had enough and notified Pattaya tourist police.

He was taken into custody and given the special guestroom at the Pattaya municipal police station, not a nice place to visit, until recovering his senses.

Unfortunately, this is not an unfamiliar sight in Pattaya and the concern is for the personal safety of the individual, as drunk as he may be. All too often the person ends up being the target of someone with ill intentions, or more likely he becomes the target of someone responding to his profane and abusive behavior, and he receives physical injuries to remind him of the lesson later on.
