I have to ask all the farang. How do you just say Good Bye to all you know and go to LOS. I know some have met the love of their live and some have just gone. How do you cut the tie?
It was actually quite easy, mate. But the first step, as they say, is the hardest...
I remember years ago, before my more transient lifestyle, I was talking to this guy who seemed like he had just done it all -- been everywhere, done everything. He appeared to have no more money or wherewithal than I, and I says to 'im I says to 'im I says, "How did you make all those things happen?"
He kinda looked down for a minute, then shrugged and said, "I don't know... You just start going about it as if it's gonna happen, and then it does..."
Studies show that over-thinking is a leading cause of paralysis. Go for it, dude, do it...
You know Texas I think the best thing you could do, if you can afford it, is to keep one leg in each place i.e. go back and forth many times per year. When you get sick of one plce, its time to go to the other......
To me the sad part BB, is except for 1 or 2 friends I see no reason to come back once I take the leap. My biggest problem is the one that farangbah mentions, I tend to overthink everything.
Yep and as it sails past you grab it. How many people think not now but I can always jump on it and watch it pass them by. Seize the moment. However I wouldn't sell up. If you can rent & do 3 month sessions after a few of those that will give you a good idea where you are. Try to get past the mongering stage . Good luck.
It's a big decision to make, I would suggest a longer stay, say around 3 months or so to really test it out. Living long term in LOS is much different than coming for vacation. Once you're certain, then make plans to finalize your move over.
There's actually quite a lot of information in this forum: Life and Living in Thailand, some of which is older, but still is relevant now as it was a few years ago.
I think I would need to work there also just to keep myself busy. I have downsized my living arraingements now and reducing expenditures. I am not going to become monk - like but am going to bank more. Hve contacted Titian to see you his adjustment is working.
