Bar Fines - A necessary evil?

I have been paying bar fines since I was a 17 year old kid in the navy. I think in japan they where 500 yen but in those days there was 365 yen to the dollar.

Lets get over it guys if you can afford to come to Thailand for a vist several times a year you can afford a bar fine. Its all part of the system lady drinks for the girls, bar fine for the bar.I like to have a big night on accassion buy my sweetie a bunch of drinks help some of her friends out as well (they do get half the cost of the drinks) it gives your girl a bit of face and latter you will get a bit of face from her.

Yes I know we donot want to over pay and appear foolish, but have a good time instead of worry about the money all of the time. One Night in Bangkok will change your life

I forgot to mention they can get in trouble with the bar if it becomes known they have been going with customers without paying the barfine.

Its a VACATION !! Bar Fine, or dinner and a movie here in the states. At least with a bar fine I know I am going to get laid.

In Thailand, unlike most other places in the world, I have no objection to paying the bar-fine, and if I make an afternoon date with a girl that I have met in a bar, I will give her the bar fine, primarily so that it helps her make her monthly quota, but also because if there is a problem with the girl, I can, in theory, go back to the bar, and tell the bar owner, bar manager or a Mamasan, on the hope that they will sort out the problem.

I also think good bars need the overhead covered in these very difficult economic times, so that they can survive, and the barfine is a help in covering the overhead.

Even with the £ & $ rates to the THB, the barfines are still a very small expense.

We had such a fella on the old forum, a young Aussie guy "Drift Spunk" not only did he never pay the bar fine, he never payed the LB either, now that's some seriously cheap trip to LOS. I was young once, but never that good looking

Absolutely critical, especially as the profit on them is so high.  In High Season, they provide all of the bottom line really, providing a nice surplus to pay for unusual expenses eg repairs, and provision for surviving Low Season, etc.

In Low Season , when drinkers are less plentiful, the margins allow the bar to at least tick over without loss.

Without them, the bars would die in a very short space of time unless drink prices were to rise to compensate.

Everything in Thailand seems to work out well for us LB fans.

The best looking products in the world are the easiest to find and in the cheapest place on earth.

In fact - once you've paid your air far, the rest is just chump change. Hotels, food, drinks and ladyboys...

The bars play a pivotal role in that arena of convenience.

Life would be more of a struggle for us mongers if the bars weren't around.
