(perth_couple @ Mar. 14 2009,19:56) According to him, any issue an idividual has with the place is actually a personal failing on behalf of the individual.
If there was an award for mischaracterizing a post this statement would be in the running for the 2009 award.
I trust it's not too early to offer my congratulations.
(saiphon @ Mar. 14 2009,17:09) You have been back three times ??? maybe the staff have identified you as one of these cheap charlie losers that flit around Pattaya and decided to treat you accordingly in the hope that you would stay away.
Compared to where the most of us travel from, the delights that are on offer in Pattaya just cannot be obtained anywhere else at the same price.
It really annoys me when someone like you goes into a great club like Stringfellows, feels slighted and then whinges all over the place. If you had a problem all you had to do was contact Bob, don't say you couldn't as he's normally there and he has even posted a telephone number on his site.
Get over it Ozzie - it's YOU that's the problem, all the rest of us enjoy going to Stringfellow's and to be serious we could do without the likes of your patronage.
In close to 30 years travelling to and living in LOS I have rarely had the problems you seem to have, but, I have seen so many like you there. Guys that couldn't pick up a shirt button off the floor never mind one of the beauties in Stringfellow's, have a few quid in their pockets and think they own the place. Well I have news for you - you don't and the sooner you realise it the sooner you will start to enjoy life.
There is an old saying "you get what you pay for" if you don't want to pay just move on - you can always get a couple of beers at the 7eleven and go down the beach front I'm sure you will meet something in your price range there and amazingly you will not have to buy them a lady drink.
Better still stay at home, buy a six pack etc - just think of all the money you could save - and you could even enjoy your own company as well - then you would have no problems at all. Leave LOS and bars and clubs like Stringfellow's to those who know how to enjoy themselves and not whinging nancies like you.
Fully agree with you, I don't know Ozzie or his spending habits but I do know Stringfellows and like you I have never seen or heard of any complaints, I don't think Bob or the mamasan would take too kindly to anyone being hassled.
Maybe Ozzie wasn't treated like the "hansum" man he thought he should, maybe he pissed off the staff at another time unbeknown to himself - who knows - Thais can be funny that way, I should know I worked there for long enough.
However I find his initial post an insult to a great bar that so many enjoy, great parties, and what's more a great internet site. If he doesn't like what happened to him take it up with the management don't be like a whinging bitch ruining it for everyone else.
We all have the right to say NO so if you don't want to buy a drink don't do it. Most clubs either LB or GG will hassle you to buy drinks for the dancers, it's part of their wage structure, so what ?, it's so bloody cheap anyhow who cares. You are on holidays, dust off the cobwebs of your wallet and be surprised. You are already a walking ATM once you get off the plane what you don't want is to be Keeneow like Ozzie appears to be.
All I can say is if you don't like something, speak up as you would do at home and then if you don't get any satisfaction leave and don't go back.
For me Stringfellows is a great place for a night out, they have great parties and its amazing the reception you get if you treat everyone with respect (doesn't mean buying drinks all round). I don't drink alcohol, preferring to drink soda water yet I am treated with respect and have a brilliant time wherever I go.
And as John says "Yes it's my money and I can do with it what I want but I won't stop acting civil just because I don't have to". Maybe Ozzie you should take note of this.
Stringfellows is a very unique niteclub and as a few have mentioned...not for everyone....but memorable moments abound...
remember one night a patron tried leaving without paying his bin...a dancer jumped off a podium, grabbed an ashtray and held it above her head while blocking his exit...he quickly paid.
...I thought maybe it would be a good time for me to check bin but b/4 I left I went to take a leak and got a blow job in the mens room that was truly one of the best ever...gave the girl 300b and left...I don't think we even spoke to each other.
Shit, please dont think we dont like the place, the posts above having NOTHING to do with Stringfellows at all. Quite the contrary, the above are merely responses to some of the opinions promulgated by other posters
Besides, Mr PC thinks Stringfellows legend Suzie is a total honey
(Stogie @ Mar. 15 2009,04:11) You can take it from me (or anyone who knows Ozzie) that he is NOT a 'Cheap Charlie!' Just the opposite, in fact!
The opposite ?
An "extravagant Charlie", IMO.
"I don´t know what to do. Losing sleep. Kicked from a chatroom on a board about worshipping young transsexual prostitutes.
I´ve my fair share of disapointments and hardtimes in my life, but this....."
(saiphon @ Mar. 14 2009,17:09) .... identified you as one of these cheap charlie losers that flit around Pattaya ...... It really annoys me when someone like you goes into a great club like Stringfellows, feels slighted and then whinges all over the place. Get over it Ozzie - it's YOU that's the problem, all the rest of us enjoy going to Stringfellow's and to be serious we could do without the likes of your patronage.
I thought this forum was about expressing one's views, sharing opinions etc. Not always is that going to mean 'ooh, this place is wonderful'. Although I still think it is - and will continue to say so on this forum, this thread, and to any newbies that want to join me for their first Stringfellows 'experience'
Ozzie was complaining about the attitude, and was quite willing to buy a drink when it suited him. So what's this 'we could do without the likes of your patronage' ... are you so full of your own importance that you speak on behalf of this bar now? Although I agree that Ozzie's subtitle is unfair, most of us were having a reasonable debate on the less desirable aspects of Stringfellows.
And i am not completely uncritical. I remember one occasion when I was pestered to buy a lady drink by the service girl. I told her (in my usual loud voice) 'I will buy a drink when it suits me, not when it suits you'. Bob overheard this and commented .... 'Very well put, TT'
I think this is the main thrust of Ozzie's argument. To convert his comments into a 'cheap charlie' ... 'your type of person' .. etc is just ridiculous. But the good thing for many of us, Saiphon, is that he is highly unlikely ever to be in Stringfellows again. So those of us who know it is a fun place (on the whole) will just get on with our pleasures

But the bad thing is, he likely will find a way to go with all the Stringfellow girls of his choice without ever going into the bar...
"It's not Gay if you beat them up afterwards." --- Anon
Just back from Pattaya which included four visits to SF including 3rd birthday party. On my first night I saw Bob and went over and introduced myself and sat with him until the lovely Dear appeared on the podium.
As she was high on my to do list, I quickly got her down for a drink, which led to a BF and LT back at my hotel, very attractive and horny lady.
On subsequent visits I was confident enough to sit alone and knock back any LB's approaching, while I waited for one I liked.
BF'd 4 different LB's with no problems. My last visit was the only one when Bob was not present and the LBs were just lounging around and their attitude was not good.
My visits were always after 11.30, wouldn't go early i.e. 9 o'clock.
If I can figure out how to post pics individually and with captions, I will try to post a TR as got some great pics.
From what I gather Bob has warned the girls in the bar that anyone making problems or hassling customers too much will be shown the door .
This I would imagine given the timing is in direct response to this and other recent threads .
I got this info straight from the horses mouth if you will , ie from one of the ladyboys at Stringfellows , whilst we were on the phone , she incidentally mentioned the matter , I never brought up the subject , so I've no doubt of its authenticity .
She was quite indignant as she isn't one of the drink hustlers , but agreed that everyone had to get the same message .
I doubt it will fully stamp out the asking for drinks culture , but hopefully it will stamp out any bad reactions to being told no thank you .
I love the only LB ago-go in Pattaya with good Air Con.
Guess if you go in the bar with a smile and good vibes....the staff treats you well no matter if your buying drinks or not for the girls.
Been in the bar on some days just to have a drink, quick look and leave with no hassles at all ever.
Been in other times and rang the bell for the hell of it buying 20 drinks with no issues either.
Like any bar in Thailand......you can have fun and a good time if you are in that frame of mind when you arrive. If its not a good vibe then just roll out and head to another bar that night or forever. Good thing about Pattaya there are loads of bars.
Having Partys there are fun too so long as rain is not in the forecast or you can part the great Soi waters
