This is the same photo I've posted in TTChang's Treasure Trove thread. Yeh
Had a chat with the guy sitting with Yeh - who also took an interest in Tunch .... and he suggested a rotation of Tunch & Yeh between us.Attached FilesTT

Thank you Snick, thank you TTChang... great photos of a New Years Eve that most of us can only dream of...
At the risk of going Off Topic, I have just been investigating the differences in outcome between Snick's new & much vaunted Canon S90 camera & TT's more modest Casio EX-S12. Both cameras are pocket size but comparing the results between them, considering the Canon is at least twice the price, I thought that TT has delivered pics that belie his cheaper camera.
A little snooping courtesy of the EXIF add-on via Firefox (what a marvellous tool this is!!) I can see where the differences lie.
All pics were taken with the flash on thus negating the S90's better low light performance but TT's Casio was set to 400 ISO while Snick moved his between 1000 & 200 . I can see that Snick had his Canon set to manual exposure mode while TT allowed the Casio to do his thinking with Auto selected.
With the clever software these modern cameras employ, so far, none of this should make any difference then I noticed that Snick had his Exposure Bias turned down by a third. I am willing to bet that wasn't intentional & the results are here for us to see.
This post in no way is meant as a criticism but hopefully as a warning to all of us who may wish to take the helm, so to speak, that we can easily be caught out when one of the settings is not in synch.
I was relieved to learn that the Canon hadn't been outclassed by higher technology, it was simple operator error that allowed TT to claim the chocolates for best on ground (or best in Nana )
I suspect that Snick's last two pics of Jay were either cropped from a broader photo or more likely, the battery on the Canon was getting tired & the strain of taking so many flash shots is evident in the dark tones.
I want to re-assure anyone thinking of posting pics that I will not be doing post mortems on any pic they may post. In light of the acclaim for the Canon S90 being called the BEST POCKET CAMERA in the world, I just thought it interesting to analyse the outcome of what was posted.
Well, at least it is interesting to me...Despite the high cost of living, it continues to be popular.

No risk .... 100% certainty Has it got my inside leg measurement too?
I did happen to notice one of Snick's pics mentions Picassa which I took to mean that he may have done something to the pic.
I am waiting for the Snickster to post his response & give me a bollicking for getting everything arse up...
As a guy who takes his photography seriously, I didn't think he would object to some constructive commentary. I know Donnnnnny appreciates it, I certainly do but I have the distinct impression that Mardhi doesn't like me commenting about Snapper's great contributions.
Which I won't...
so that leaves you & Snick...Despite the high cost of living, it continues to be popular.
