Miss Best Costume, no 26 who also eventually was the winner. I did spot Nicki at the end of the contest, I wasn't sure it was her, but after seeing snapper's photos, I am sure now.

I was back in row N which was the last set of seats on the main floor, about 30 meters, 100 feet away from the stage. Unfortunately a lot of the ladies were looking down in front of the stage where the press photographers were.

Well taken photos Rx, especially so from that distance. What kind of flash? Obviously many a fine tune still to be "played" on an old fiddle.

Torurot, thanks for the comments! I've been using the Sony HVL 56 AM (mostly a rebadged Minolta 5600 HS (D)) after first using a Minolta 3600 HS (D). I've been really happy with the 56 - very powerful and with the tilt, swivel bounce head allows for flexible lighting, especially when used with the Demb Flip-it flash diffuser. Works well with the old Konica/Minolta 5D.

donnnnnny, thanks for the comments! Well, yes many contests are predetermined, but in this case something odd happened, which makes this particular event a possible exception.
