One point that hasn't been raised so far is that one of the drawbacks of PI LBs is that most of them are in the Philippines!
Well, thats my point of view anyway. I'd prefer to be in Thailand.

At the beginning of this adventure with LBs I shared your opinion

After a year or so - and one relationship - in Thailand, I decided to give the Philippines a second look

Reasons (in no particular order)

language factor
better location (more frequent flights to my primary work place in Asia)
better scuba diving (aside from LBs, my other great passion in those days)
prior knowledge (my first wife was a mestiza Filipina)
familiar culture and 'road map of the mind' (Christian v. Buddhist)

Results - several years of great diving around the country, quite a few great dates with some wonderful LBs,  and now a great relationship with a fantastic partner

To be fair, I am a little disappointed at trading the beauty of Bohol and the laid-back city life of Cebu for the daily grind that is Manila - but I promised her that we could give it a couple of years while she starts her new career

In the meantime, we still have weekend diving locally, and frequent long weekends or vacations in the Visayas to whet our collective appetite for a better location in the years ahead

As has been written before - for the LB monger who is looking for fun and easy P4P on vacation, Thailand wins hands down, no question

Alternately, if you have more time available, have grown tired of hearing "...up to youuuu..."  and are are willing to expend the effort on Friendster, Facebook, or some of the LB dating sites to find and meet a good Filipina LB (and there are just as many good ones as there are scammers) - your efforts will likely be rewarded

As for all this trash talk here -  amazing that some can invest such vitriolic emotion in a little bulletin board (but great entertainment value)

i thought i would get into this debate i have been to thailand 6 times but i wouldnt say i am an experienced ladyboy hunter but i get a few every trip. I usually to phuket and pattaya only half between each trip i actually love it but decided to give philippijnes ago, i met few online from dateinasia i went to manila, subic, angeles, peurto galera. Well i met 1 in subic really nice place lots of resorts pretty cheap too looking at $50 night for nice place if you dont have a ladyboy you will struggle here but you can go to pier 1 they have a band there. Many people go saw few ladyboys but nothing to write home about i didnt stay long in manila so never made it too shampoo bar cause i stayed in ermita so if you want to find anyone goe to L A cafe nice girls there places in manila are not good value for money i stayed at duck inn its ok cheap but rooms average. Then i went to peurto galera you have to take 1 there cause not many think i saw about 2 were no good lots of girlie bars and its in sabang if you take someone and want it quiet well go to white beach its nice there after that went to angeles. Well you dont have to take any there are enough there i picked 1 up on fields avenue she was super really nice beautiful as well but dont go expecting many to have breasts some are on hormones. She was from dateinasia too i found out later they all want out so expect her to be all over you i found philippines to be unbelivably cheap i would definately go back but only draw back is food worst in asia i would say everything fried but you will get good meals some places i spent only around $130 a day and thats living it up so cheap too i loved it but its all about opinion and of course they are not as beuatiful as thailands ladyboys but i found it an interesting place.I will definately be going back want to check out cebu next time hope this can help a little bit.
