The above, reminds me of something that happened to me.
For many, many months I was hooked up with a GG from a go-go bar.
Then one day, she says to me, out of the blue:
"I worry, you not have much money. I think I go back to work tomorrow."
I asked a friend (ladyboy mamasan at a GG-bar) who worked in Pattaya, what was the hidden message:
My friend said, the U.S. Navy would be coming in the next day.

So i confronted my girlfriend :
"My friend says that everybody want to work, when the U.S. Navy comes to town.
Maybe 5 ST, every day.
Big money."
She said, she "not want to speak". And she stayed with me.

I am not saying, that I was right to "confront" her.
My point, was only, if she needed more money, or "a quick killing", I am open for discussion, especially since I had not promised her anything. The only thing she knew for sure, that I gave her fee, and paid her barfine, every morning, before I left her (sleeping in my bed). Other than that routine, there was no agreement/contract between my rent-a-wife and myself.
And she had no information as to what day/week/month, that I would be headed for the airport.

(Note: The experienced mongers know, that very often a girl can quit her job, and stay with a boyfriend, and then go back to work, a few weeks, after the boyfriend has departed.
In that manner, the boyfriend does not have to pay the barfines.
But some punters might actually be more comfortable with paying a barfine, everyday.
With this GG that I had strong feelings for, I still preferred to barfine her every day. Even if the extra costs would shorten my trip, by a number of weeks.
Satisfaction with my trip, is more important than the length of my travel.
I do not like that a bargirl quits her job, on my account.
Partially because I know, that when I fly out of Thailand, the girl will get no more money for me, unless I return.
One reason being, that when I leave Thailand, there are no e-mail addresses or phone numbers where a "rent-a-wife", can contact me.
(I do not like thinking too much about someone, and being distracted by them, when I stay in Farang-land.)

If you are here for a holiday and are collecting memories for the months that you have to stay working in some crappy job then counting pennies isn't very rewarding.

Same goes for people who come over here and then proceed to get drunk. What a bloody stupid waste of time that is!

For most of us, our time here is extremely valuable. Don't waste it by passing over opportunities, getting drunk and haggling over a few measly bucks.

In this current economic climate if you're offered an attractive price I'd also advise taking ST over LT reason being taking LT you're leaving yourself open to the "MY mum's sick" phone call

Perhaps solid advice but for the opposite reason...

Because the girls are experiencing long dry periods between barfines,  it's really difficult to get them out of your room...

They all seem to want to stay and stay and stay...

On the fruit subject, I think many variables can apply to prices of certain commodities. Fuel, harvest, country of export etc so not sure we can extrapolate much from the banana crisis

An acceptable rate to me is what I am prepared to pay for the goods on offer.
And if I ''click'' with the girl, it is also important that we have conducted a mutually acceptable business transaction, one which both parties are keen to revisit at a future date.

Odet 1 recently quoted me a price which I thought was especially when you consider the original posters opening statement.
Then again, she has never really forgiven me for posting some snaps without her permission three years ago

25 baht bananas? Bananas cost .19 a piece in Trader Joe's slightly upscale market in the USA. Bananas in Thailand should be way cheaper than that. And they are from any normal open market in the Realm.

Keen observation. I went to my grocery store and I can get 4 bananas for the equivalent of around ~30 baht, almost the same price in BKK and less if you ignore the hi-so places that Kahuna shops at! Not to get too off-topic, but I've become increasingly aware that some things (at least in the USA) are actually cheaper here than abroad in Thailand. And I'm not talking swiss chocolates and BMWs, but everyday items. Unfortunately, that does not hold true with LBs!

No...I can walk across the street to upscale Villa Market
in The Avenue and buy them for 20 baht...Surprised...

My point was and still is...When business is bad, Thais raise the prices of goods and services...

Don't expect the girls to start giving away their bodies simply because you think they should...

Faire enough on the banana 'incident'.  

As to prices, from my posts you will see that I'm not pushing any particular point of view on the matter and certainly don't think the girls should 'do' anything. This is simply meant to be a discussion about the impact, or lack thereof, of the global trend we are all experiencing.

As Pentire said, ultimately it's up to us as to whether we accept the offered terms of trade or move on.

Maybe when things really kick in we will see that downward shift.

Well, strocube, it has to be all in the right persepective. I'm sure for the average oil worker who has been in Saudi or on a rig blasting away 1000 USD in one night is probably nothing, and it will be well appreciated and perhaps deserved too giving the harsh life condition he had.

I think here we are not talking about sex starved individuals who has to accept any price at any condition. Also, cannot compare western prices with asian prices. In Thailand a local meal by the street, which is what 90% of Thai people has daily, cost a quarter than a coffee in Oslo, the most expensive city in the world, and 1500 baht is almost one week of salary for an average factory worker.

So, before calling people cheap fucks you should put everything in the right perspective  

spot on, a p4p worker in LOS getting baht 1500-2000 ST plus a guy usually tips and or taxi plus the fact they are allready earning money at the bar...........many of you seem to forget this factor........most p4p in the west are independent and dont get bar "fees"plus mayby drink and food plus a stay in a good hotel sometimes,thats not bad money for them...........think of what the average worker in thailand is earning compared to these in p4p,sometimes some nights they make more money in a day than the everage thai does in a month!this i know for fact,ive known girls to have 100,s of thousands of baht in the bank,some are very astute,its a generalistation but true.get some perspective many girls in the p4p seem to be losing theres for fuck sake dont lose yours!........if you want to go and pay baht 3000 plus then up to you but i dont see any need to.
