Excellent summation RR. I think the reason why more Americans seem uptight about the subject is because the law here about age of consent are still said to apply even when we are in another country with more liberal laws. I've been told that, or read it, though can't say for certain it is true.
We do have quite a few states with lower than 18 ages of consent, but the law according to the Feds is 18.

(LB_better_than_GG @ Nov. 18 2008,13:55) you did the right thing, sex with someone whose under 18 and who has agreed to sex is considered statutory rape. You could go to jail for that and you might get raped if you drop your soap.
You must be an American ?
I think he may be a Kiwi. Why would you AssUMe he was one of our countrymen?

We don't often ban IP numbers and when we do it's usually just for a few days.
Usually; if people sign on with a new username after getting canned they have picked up the way we do things and have read the posting guidelines.
It's good to have people posting but not if it's repetitive, stupid or offensive.
I can't tell you the amount of times my heart has been gladdened when a new fella finds us and starts his first post with "I'm not gay, but..." or if someone posts (as they did today) "What can I expect to pay for..." That post got deleted.
So even if a username has been banned it's easy to get back on and start over...
(Tomcat @ Nov. 19 2008,13:31) ...then dont take any chances.
All my trips, only once i done that...knowingly..as I don't like ST rooms so I take all my LBs back to my hotel room...and they got to have IDs...She told me she was 17 no ID..As far as I know,, and you can correct me on this,,,You got to be 18 to have an ID in Thailand..
"I'm not gay but..." haha lol. Fair enough if they got banned because the y said something offensive, than if they register again they ought to learn the lesson.
Yeah I found that out with a certain blonde haired lb from Patong, a few yrs ago, who seemed to have an ID for every age from 17 to 21 in her purse.
Since then I have seen several <18 IDs, and the ones who are such, there seems to be little or no attempt to be deceitful about the true age. Mamasans will readily admit too, that this one or that one in her bar is 16, 17, or whatever. I tend to believe some of the long term expats who have told me that the odds of getting into trouble from bar fining one who is 16 or 17 is slim to none, but still don't plan to look for any <18 when there are so many hotties available who are >18.

(Sid the sexist @ Nov. 18 2008,12:50) I'd take her back to my apartment and bang the crap out of her.
You are breaking the law if she is under 15.
You are breaking the law if you pay her for sex even if she is 50!
She is breaking the law if she works in a bar under 20.
The bar is breaking the law if she is working there under 20.
If you are taking her to a hotel most have an under 18 policy and some have a ladyboy policy.
If you meet at a 7/11 and she's sweet 16 then go for it. You aren't breaking any laws in here or in the UK or Europe... dunno about the USA though. They are a bit up tight when it comes to people having fun.
im not having that last line.....ill have you know were pretty stuck up n uptight about fun n frolics here in good ole england its not just the americans you know...........we can do introverted backward small minded to you know!in fact i think were the best at it!
