Patong beach hotel?

yes, this is actually a very good value at about 1200 per night depending on the month. I have seen the rooms and they are huge, like apartments, and you can't beat the location in the center of the gay complex there on Patong. the only reason I don't stay there myself is because I need a pool; if that doesn't matter to you, this is a great place and certainly ladyboy-friendly.

nice alternative;  Patong Villa on the beach road, about 5 minutes walk from soi Katoey.  they DO have a joiner fee of 300 per night, but the rooms are nice there and only 1300 baht, so figure 1600  if you have a 'date' every night.   those are the 2 best places  I have found in Patong  beach.
Are refering to a Thai or US Travel agent??

Stewart did you end up staying at Coconut Village? What was it like. I am going to be back in patong end Dec - early Jan. I usually stay at KohJoy but it is booked out when I am in town so for the first time I will actually have to find something else.
Any other suggestions appreciated. I have seen Patong Villa recommended by a few so I will check that out.

OK, I've been in Patong several times over last 2 months:
Coconut Village was pretty good value for money. Just a little far to the beach....5-7 mins walk, but not too bad. They also have gay guys and a lb working at reception, so I guess no problems with lb's back in room. This was actually booked for me by a lb friend (non-bargirl).

Again, good value...BUT if you are a light sleeper, there is a massive new hotel development across the road.

5 really nice poolside rooms
Andaman Beach Suites

18th floor apartment with fantastic views across the bay, BUT 800 baht per night joiner fee if not pre-booked. I DID pre-book with a friends name, and did take a different girl back one night and did NOT get charged, but I think I was lucky. Not recommended for what we want to do.
Baan Laimai

Very nice, but again you need to pre-book the second person's name and take the risk if you take another girl back. You can get to some of the rooms here without passing reception.
Patong Villa? I deliberately went to have a look when I was there last weekend, and it looks good. I will definitetely stay there next time, although Jai Dee warned of a 300 baht joiner feeMister Arse

Hey Ozzie,
I stayed in Patong Villa in september, the rooms and service were fine, there was no joiner fee at all as I sorted this out before booking, they didnt seem to have a problem with it , but they werent busy so I dont know if the attitudes will change come peak season.
I must say ,being the shy type, lol, I didnt take too many long time girlfriends, because you have to walk through an arcade of small stall holders to get to the hotel, they check out your dates and some of the cheeky ones might even comment, lol.I like to be fairly discreet if thats at all possible in Thailand.
I have just realised I beter book somewhere to stay also,as previous years of Terrorism, Avian Flu, SARS, have made it possible to be lazy and book last minute, not this year though.
