THE FORUM IS MOVING...

The forum is moving to a new home in the next few hours...

It's likely that you won't notice anything, especially if you just read here...

There's a small chance that during the move the forum may be down for a short while...

In our NEW home we'll have a dedicated speedy server that is ONLY running this forum and other related forum sites...

Bam is taking control of the entire move as I'm way out of my depth with almost all that is going on behind the scenes.

I take it you're in China? There is no Geo blocking on this server 'yet' and it'll be up to Stogie if he wants that. The problem most porn sites have with China is they come in droves and suck up all your bandwidth... and the Chinese really seem to like Ladyboys!

Stogie may choose to ban China once he see's his BW bill for the first month..... those guys sit around in those large gymnasium-like internet cafe's all around the country and view [and share] pics of ladyboys all day and night, driving up bandwidth costs to amazing figures and of course never paying a cent.

Once the word gets out that this forum is available and free and has tons of photos in the Picture Post section, those guys will be latching on to here and driving up the costs ....and also slowing down the site for the rest of you guys.

The more people who view a website, the higher the bandwidth bill is and the more taxed the server is.

  When ATS  first relased Free Hosted Galleries {FHG's} for their affiliates to promote the website back in 2006, the Chinese latched on to those like there was no tomorrow....... BW charges went through the roof; thousands of guys were viewing these galleries [but of course never joining up] and that costs money. The only way websites make money back from people viewing the product on their servers is to charge a fee, a membership fee; when 'cheap charlies' only look at the free pics and never join,  a website loses cash.

 Stogie should not have that problem as long as he bans those pesky Chinese,  and hopefully his promotions for the 10 or more websites he sells will help to re-coup his new-found bandwidth expenses.

But now in 2008 isn't bandwidth just about free? For a few bucks a month many hosting companies offer a terabyte of bandwidth or higher like godaddy and some even offer unlimited bandwidth like yahoo for instance.

 I think you mean more like if someone wanted "Bobs personal 3-page website" or something, but this is a bit more involved.

 This forum uses a LOT of bandwidth..... with all the refreshes and people logging on daily [some hourly, just check the bottom] the CPU on the particular server which this forum was hosted on before this move was taxed harder than any other server on the rack!  True.....even more than the videos or the FHG's.

   BW is cheap these days but far from free and if thousands of Chinese log on daily to look at ladyboy pics it won't even be cheap anymore.
