PRICES 2008! How much SHOULD we pay?

The best you can get from this discussion is some common range of numbers. However you may completely ignore what most people seem to pay and pay whatever makes you and your company happy.

Don't let anyone tell you that overpaying will destroy the market either and don't be concerned about ruining it for everyone else. Pay what YOU can afford and what YOU feel comfortable paying.

home early for a Korean customer who paid 35,000 baht
for one night..He comes twice a month on business but
she still does short time for 3000 baht inbetween..
She doesn't expect every one to pay silly money..

My range is 500-700 ST; 1,000-1,500 LT. I've paid 1,000 ST a few times, but not often. If I don't know the girl, I make sure the price is agreed/understood before hand.

When girls quote me silly prices, I just smile, explain that I've lived in Thailand a long time and decline their offer. Its suprised me on how many times they've quickly dropped their first original demand and agree to my price. I take great pains to be polite and not to offend them when declining. The girls that become agressive/insulting to my offers have done me a favor-if its starts out bad, it never gets any better (IMHO.)

I don't care what other guys pay and I do understand guys here on vacation that want to maximize their time. They've spent 20+ hours on an airplance and they aren't going to quibble over a few baht if a girl gets them arroused

There are thousands of girls/LBs in LOS and if the first one doesn't take my offer, maybe the next one will.

I was given some advice by the original owner of C&D in Phuket (sorry, due to advancing senility, I have forgotten the gentleman's name) which was - negotiate as hard as you can to get the rock bottom price and then, just before you leave the bar, say that you've been thinking about the price and then wait for the smile to leave her face. At this point, say that she is far too nice to screw at that price and add 2 - 300 baht to it. The resulting good feeling sometimes carries over as far as your bed.

Unfortunately, I have not done this sufficiently to test its statistical validity but I am working on it. I shall have a wider sample after my next trip in June.

I agree with Stogie that the high payers dont make it worse for the cheap charlies, actually they make it better. ( well maybe )

We overpayers are actually subsidising you cheap guys as if we didnt overpay the girls would in fact probably put their rate up to compensate for the loss of the occasional bonus paying punter like me ,Stogie ,KL or that other guy

ya know...this is a great point I've never seen brought up before. I suspect the girls track overall income, subconciously at least. They have an average they want, they know what most guys will balk at.

Yes I think you're right  -  I always suspect that much like a criminal can spot a policeman and vis-versa  -  that ladyboys can spot who will or won't pay top price.

I guess that mostly they look at clothes/watch etc. and work from that.

I always remember one girl saying of the Japanese;-  '5 inches, 5 minutes and 5000 Baht'

Not sure if anyone else has noticed but, the short time rate in the Nana area has dropped recently. Seems to be a lot of tourists in the clubs just looking. Talking to some of the girls the number of real punters are thin on the ground and, 1000 baht + barfine will buy you the same girl who asked 2000 baht at the end of last year. They ask for more as always and are not happy with the drop in income but, 1000 will do the trick on the night.
Or am I just in the bottom end (if you will excuse the pun)
