statuesque, I agree, you are a very important member of the forum and I am very glad you are more active now. You have given an excellent example of why "labels" as passive = feminine are not always a good thing to apply to the relationships between ts and males or females.

The discussion about using the "gay" label" has been discussed at length. Using the label "feminine role" for someone likes or thinks to be topped by a preop lb is a similar discussion.

By the way, polls on the forum are not necessarily a scientific accurate sampling!

Much kudos to you for a great discussion and also for providing the alternative point of view we don't often see on the forum!

(statuesque @ Feb. 23 2008,09:23) (although Im not disregarding the fact that having sex/making love with a guy for me provides that strong yet fleeting affirmation of femininity every transgirl aims to relish).
Do these guys fulfill you though? I mean, you're a woman in mind and soul, yet most of these guys are clearly interested in penises and probably, in many cases, enjoy assuming the feminine role themselves and also probably don't even get turned on by GG's, so when they are making love to you, how do you reconcile that they are interested in what remains most male about you?
I was going to say that this indicates that surferboy is repressing his own sexuality (I mean "surferboy"? How gay is that??), before going on to say that he should relax: after all none of us minds how much of a shirtlifter he is, and in fact some of our best friends are pooves.

However, having read through the thread in its entirety, I don't think he does irony. So I thought I would save myself the effort.

I only know Statuesque from her posts on this forum, so I don't know whether she is non-op, pre-op or post-op (nothing to do with me, either). However, I doubt that the lovers she mentioned in post 19 were "interested in what remains most male about [her]" (such a delightful turn of phrase, so sensitive) because I doubt that anything about her remains male, irrespective of whether or not she's had SRS.

As several board members have pointed out, one of the real attractions of TS girls for most of us is their femininity (read the late, great Rob69's reports for a start). And this has little or nothing to do with what is between their legs - it's about what is between their ears that counts.

I can only judge Statuesque from her pictures and her posts, but she comes across as more feminine than 90% of the GGs I've ever met. Mind you, she doesn't need me to defend her - she does it perfectly well on her own.

(statuesque @ Feb. 24 2008,04:13)  A surfer guy (I assume on the beach) who uses alliteration to impress women? Since when did that happen?

Never underestimate a surfer boy from California!
And another thing. I am not sure that Statuesque was doing any estimating at all, but if she was, I don't think she was underestimating.

              Quite the reverse, in fact.

"Surferboy" was never a "gay" term, in fact, quite the opposite. I am one of those blond-haired, blue-eyed guys from Southern California who was there in the 60's growing up with The Beach Boys.

Gender roles during sex disappeared with the missionary position sometime during the late 1960's, about the same time that guys started having long hair. I think that we have the English to thank for that.
