Thanks everyone for your input very much appreciated. I am off in 24 Hours to enjoy the high spirited LB's. Mainly in Chiang Mai due to family reasons but Will be down staying at The Unico Grande Suk. Look forward to finally getting to Guess.

I'm in Chiang Mai in January, unfortunately with wife, ( it will still be nice after Xmas in darkest Yorkshire) she likes to go and see the show in the Marina bar area, but that's usually as near to the LB's as I get on this annual trip.
Dave, we are staying at Raming Lodge as well, let me know if the receptionist is a ladyboy at least one more little encounter to look forward to.

I have stayed at the Royal Guest house in Chiang Mai a bit of a barrack block but relatively cheap 200-1000 bht and with a swimming pool, It is ideally located for the LBs, just a block down from the moat in the direction of the night market.
when i was there in 2007 the street walkers seemed to be everywhere, but this year i was with a LB girlfriend so could not really go on a search ..... but I just did not see any girls standing on the favorite corners I just wonderd if there had been a crackdown on the freelancers

Plenty of freelancers around when I was there earlier this year in April 2008.  Just returned from Thailand, but didn't manage a return visit to Chiang Mai this time around.

If you leave the Chiang Mai Entertainment Centre (where you have the ladyboy venues Marina Bar & Shamrock Pub), and turn left, the first group of freelancers are only a short distance up the road. Walk a little further, and you will find a second group. If you turn left onto Moon Muang Road, there is a group hanging out in front of the DK Book Centre. On one night, I kept walking, and just past the large petrol/gas station I discovered a fourth group, best described as young femboys and are pictured below. Earlier that evening I had been offered short times for 500 Baht, and now I was being offered short time for 300 Baht.
