Another video told the story of an English man in his late 50's. He had found the Thai love (I don't remember if the story said she's a bar girl), then invested his savings in her family farm. He even worked to build a pig stal and make them develop their business. But after an argument, he was asked to leave the family and couldn't get a baht in return. I had met a country fellow on my second trip in Thailand. The guy was the boss of a massage salon in Chiang Mai. He was proud and very self confident. He explained me that his wife signed an IOU for every baht he spent for her. Everything was under the control of a Thai lawyer. I am not sure it's sufficient to get protected. The lawyer is likely to ask for more money in case of problem and even to start working for the Thai lady. Even if not, if she wants to put him out, I am not sure a Thai judge would give him the advantage. Better think that each bath spent in Thailand is no return expense.
