5-star Phuket Hotel???

Can anyone suggest any high-end accomodations in Phuket which isn't too far from the bar action and where I can bring LBs back to my room?

I have not tried it myself, but I believe the Royal Paradise Hotel is guest friendly. The Royal Paradise is literally yards from the Koh Joy Restaurant and Tangmo Cabaret.

The hotel Jon recommended to me was the Patong Villa Hotel which is just off the beach road about 300 yards north of Bangla Road. Aim to get one of the larger rooms near to the pool. Bangla road is where most of the bars and Soi Crocodile (Soi Katoey) are located. You will also find the Tiger Disco at the eastern end of Soi Bangla.

The real 5 star hotel at Patong I believe is the Diamond Cliff Resort. As this place is outside of my price range I have no idea about their guest policy. It is also away from the action, although only about 30 baht in a songthiauw.

Most hotels in Thailand will take no notice if you are discreet about taking your guest back to your room. One trick is to book your room for two people. Most website only ask for the name of the person making the booking. If they ask as you book in you just say your girlfriend will join you later.

If you want something in the heart, try Patong beach hotel.
I stayed there a few years ago. 2800bt a night,,I didn't have any problems bringing Lb's in,,and a great bar out front.

If you want to go five star in Phuket, the Marriott beach club is as first class as you can get. Not to near Patong but they provide limo service top the patong area just about any time you want (you need to reserve a pickup toime because of the limited seating). Marriotts are about as guest friendly as you can possibly get and you can get to any room without actually going through the lobby area. If you really want to live it up you can get a two room villa through the marriott vacation club, that way your favorite ladyboy can cook for you as well (and you can have a harem with no questions asked if you are brave enough)

Can anyone confirm that the Marriott in Patong is guest friendly? The one in BKK has allowed my guests in the past but but on a few ocassions hasn't been very receptive.

Alternatively, is anyone aware of any private suites/villa for rent on a weekly basis near the bar areas?

I am considering the Banyan Tree and the Sheraton but they are too far from the main action. Anyone with any further thoughts?

The reason I ask these questions is because I had such a bad experience with the Diamond Cliff Resort. Not only were they not guest friendly, they were hostile to me and my guest. When I tried to check out the next day, they billed me for the entire period of my reservations. In short,this place is really really bad and I would recommend everyone stay away from the Diamond Cliff.

Sorry, a bit off topic.
but the same thing happened to me in Pattaya. I did not care for the hotel I was at and wanted to checkout early.They wanted to bill me for the entire reservation ! I told them that my " wife's " mother was very sick and had to leave now and I really loved the hotel and hated to leave.
they only charged me for an extra day. I think it was a face saving thing.

Royal Paradise buddy.....there fine with ladyboys i stayed there for my 1st trip....its 600baht for your guest they are ladyboy friendly. How ever be warned 2 things the security guard laughs when the ladyboy hands over the ID card as they think your so pissed you do actually think your taking home a 100% woman and tells you that its a guy also as its a nice hotel youll get a few sniggers in the morning or afternoon as the lobbys always full from other tourists.. so its your call....i made the habbit of paying for 2 now do theres no charge you just take the ID card hand in to the guard and up the lift then in the day time off she pops by herself...but thats just me.....hope it helps.....
