Boat house and Mon Tri are awesome, not sure if its what your are looking for. But check them out on tripadvisor and their website.
BTW you can haggle w/ Mon Tri if you call them direct.
Best to email them & ask them to confirm their joiner policy. I know LBs have gone there but I don't know if they charge. All the 5 star hotels definitely do.
One thing about staying on the beach side of Beach Rd, the LB doesn't need go to the reception & if you are stopped by the security guard, usually a 100 baht note slipped into his hand takes care of it. Learn his name & it may not be a problem for the rest of your stay. YMMV but you can only try.
However I don't recommend doing that if you pick a girl up from Soi Croc or freelancing anywhere in Patong. Girls from C&Ds won't be a worry.
Despite the high cost of living, it continues to be popular.
Hi Steff, I have lived here in Phuket for over 5 years now, and have a pretty good idea of everything here.
First I will refer to your original post in this thread, you mentioned that you would like to be in the downtown area of Phuket, at the beach. Well the downtown area is known as Phuket Town, or Phuket City, there is no beach there.
Next, I will refer you to about 3 hotels on the beach in Phuket. First is La Maridien, which is located between Patong Beach and Karon beach, definitely a classy place, and not a long drive into the city on Patong Beach.
Second, is the Hilton located on the beach a little further south from La Maridien. This is one of the most beautiful properties I have visited in Phuket, definitely high class.
Third is the Phuket Royal Yacht Club, located at Nai Harn Beach. They have bungalows on the hillside overlooking the beach there. In my opinion, this is the most beautiful beach I have seen in Phuket. This is also a place that will impress you and your lady! This is a longer drive from the town areas, the closest being Kata Beach, and Karon Beach.
I hope this will be helpful to you, and any others thinking of this type of accommodation.
In all honesty I doubt if any LB you've ever met (or any Thai GG who was not a "Hi-So") would be comfortable in any of the above resorts; but I thought that I would spice up this thread by listing these resorts.
Anyone tried Millennium next to Jungceylon? I'm likely to come over in a week or so (bit last minute!) to do my Padi Openwater over 4 days. Thought I'd give this place a shot as it has a nice gym (I'm an exercise freak). Anybody heard if its (lb) joiner friendly? Will they let me ship in half of C&D staff?

Don't have any information.
I did look into it, since its pretty cheap right now, but I decided its too much of a BIG hotel for me. Never bothered asking them about joiners (but I would guess they charge)
I'll be doing some diving in Phuket in another 2 weeks - enjoy.

Yeah agreed on the 'big' bit. Would prefer something a bit discreet but not miles away from where the action is. I'll probably give it a shot and report back.... Cheers.
The Hilton Arcadia on Karon beach isn't quite 5 star, but worth a look (probably get great deals on some of the websites). Stayed there a couple of times, although wasn't with partner. Same with Katathani Resort - photo 2004 - where some rooms are almost on the sand (Kata - Yai & Noi - are lovely beaches).
