I would like recommendations for hotels (3 to 5 star) in Phuket within walking distance (short taxis distance) from C&D's and Soi Crocodile. I have never been there and it is difficult to figure this out from the maps I can access. Any help would be appreciated. Thank you.

Stef, it's pricey, but the place I stayed on my last (and so far only) trip to Phuket is described pretty well in my first trip report: https://theladyboyforums.com/cgi-bin....04;st=0 - go to post number 12 on page 1 for the info on the hotel and it's locale in relation to C&D
It's the Safari Beach Club. There's two properties, one ON the beach, the other ACROSS THE ROAD from the beach. Both are basically at the corner of Beach and Bangla, so you're right in the middle of the action.
C&D and Soi Croc are both side streets of Bangla Road. You could walk there from the hotel in 2-3 minutes.
Phuket is pretty small, and unless you get something out in the suburbs, you're probably gonna be a 5-10 minute walk from C&D and Soi Croc almost anywhere you stay.
Send a PM to Jimbo or to "our man on the street", IvorBigguns, and they'll probably give you a ton of great info.Making newbie mistakes since 2009 so you don't have to

Phuket is a hotel problem zone.
It seems there is no "nearly ideal" hotel there, they all have their different problems, and the place (Patong) is expensive.
For 1500-2000 USD a night you can get - as DT said - The Safari Beach Club, which seems to be a fair place (3 stars and noise at night).
Patong really needs a good middle category hotel with all the features:
- close to BangNa
- Rooms with King size beds and passable furniture
- Good bathroom
- Good noise insulation
- Free Internet
- Pool (not closing at 21:00 FFS!)
- In-room safe
and of course girl/LB friendly!!
If a hotel could manage to do the above for 1500-2000 BHT a night, it would be full all year long!
The details of the Safari Beach Hotel are here:

(I improved the site - now with Google maps !!)

Poppa palace is a good cheap guest friendly hotel near bangla with 2 small pools.
Under 1000 baht for a good room if you book at www.atsiam.com
if you book as a double- no charge for a joiner.
They have a good website if you want to know more.

I've been emailing a few hotels in Phuket of recent days and I'm getting very tired of joiner fees- fucking scammers
Problem with Phuket now is that to get a good cheap room with a pool you are almost forced back to nanai road- and it's too far to walk all the time. The only exception I know is poppa!! Wonder how long that will last

(azza33 @ Apr. 06 2010,16:58) Problem with Phuket now is that to get a good cheap room with a pool you are almost forced back to nanai road- and it's too far to walk all the time.
Patong is a little difficult like that.
In the past, I have always stayed on Nanai Road and rented a motorbike. Although it is a little out of the way (5-10minutes), it is often quieter (if you can find a place without a construction site next door). I like having a motorbike because there are a lot of reasons to go outside and around of Patong most importantly, the beaches.
Also, the cost for one tuk tuk ride is twice the cost of a daily motorbike rental.
This, however, has led me to take the short-time rooms near C and D which is obviously an unnecessary expense.
I find that the amount of noise in Patong really gets to me so I am always looking for a spot that tends to be away from the action.
That said, if I wanted to walk to Bangla, I would strongly consider The Place To Stay, although I have never stayed there. It used to be that they did not provide internet service - you had to wifi to the internet shop nearby - I don't know if that has changed.
Next time I am there, I will definitely go visit the Aspery on Snicks recommendation.
Yorkshire Inn gets mixed reviews but I would strongly consider it for its location and its services. I have used there gym there and found the facilities to be good. I did not get a "warm and cuddly" feeling from the staff but such is life. Some people write that the rooms are small, but I have also read that some larger rooms are available.

Mainstream hotels 3 star plus are going to charge joiner fees in Phuket as they are trying to get away from p4p. Either drop your expectations or go elsewhere is the short answer.
Much as I hate to suggest it for a place with a pool near bangla it's either gonna be the Yorkshire Inn or the Expat Hotel (better option of the 2). For places close in Summer Breeze, C&N or PS Hotels would suit but no pool. SB normally has access to a pool but it's been damaged during nearby piling work. Nanai is only a B50 MB taxi ride either way, joiner fees become non-existent and room rates drop.I couldn't give a shit how long it is until you're next holiday- I live here

Paradise Hotel is a one minute walk away. Think u can use their pool for 100 baht or maybe even free if u order a drink.
