Hotels & Watersports in Phuket

Hmm plans changing on our trip and it looks as if my trip is moving to Phuket instead of Patts. So guys I am sure this has been reported on but, what are the nice hotels in Phuket close to the action as it were, mid to upper price range. Also can anybody give guidence on daytime fun with respect to sailing, scuba & rafting type stuff. Cant spend the whole trip on the beach or in bed!!

Hi Bobcat,

the most action is in Patong.
For the daytime action, there are many small shops on the road, where you can make your bookings and they inform you as well.
A nice hotel and also cheap one is the Beach Logde. The night is from THB 600 to THB 1100. Bookings over www.agoda.com.

For diving I recommend, Sea Fun Divers. I had a great time with these guys. It was a really top notch experience.

As much as I would've liked to I never got to do any sailing. However, I highly recommend the trip out to the islands with the caves. It's a kayaking excursion. You take a boat out to the islands then you go with a guide and paddle around and inside the caves. There are bats and monkeys--monkeys!
Sorry I can't remember what outfit I went through for that. I'm sure if you ask at your hotel they can direct you.

Here's a nice hotel for only 270 baht a day and they don't mind if you piss all over the bed.
