  • Pattaya Centre Hotel

From what I can gather from this forum, the Pattaya Centre Hotel is guest friendly.
However, on one of their sites I have seen that they charge a joiner fee of 400 bht.
I would like to hear from anyone with any experience.

(My alternative is the Sunshine Hotel, but in my opinion it is too noisy at night).

If you book directly with them there's no guest fee, if you booked through a travel agent then they do charge a fee.

Nice hotel, but a bit 'olde worlde!' Get a Junior Suite. Worth the extra.

Very close by is The Lek which is better (and cheaper) (038425550)

Or even nicer (but smaller) is The Haven (038710988)

Both hotels have cheap walk in rates and no guest charge.

The Lek is about 800 for a room and the Haven is less than 1,000 Baht.

I like The Lek mbecause of the all you can eat breakfast and dinner buffets which are so cheap.

I like The Haven because it is very clean and has a peaceful calm about it.

TopDog is 100% correct. You have to book through their website to avoid the joiner fee. Doing this also gives you a very good rate for a Panarama Suite. Word of caution though, this hotel has had a large number of complaints from guests who have had their credit card nicked for shopping sprees in Korea and in my case Japan. You can book a room without giving a credit card and when you get there pay by cash. A perfectly located hotel but use caution as this seems to be an ongoing problem and the Graham the Brit.manager has so far been unable to stop it.

wow. Thats good info to know. U would think the problem would be solved by now. I always pay cash where ever i stay in Thailand or Phillipines. A lot of the joints are now asking for cards so i just give cash deposit with receipt.

It is a shame that this particular hotel has a history of doing this bullshit. It did not stop me from stying there as I love the location and the value you get when you stay in one of their Panorama Suites for 1648 Baht per night. I just told them cash or I walk and I will pay for my stay up front if you don't mind. Funny thing, that was not a problem, gee what a surprise.

                  Yes it is...

But there is a guest fee unless you book by the internet...

                  Link to the PCH (Graham)

It's a bit run down these days, but they welcome LBs... I've stayed there many many times.

I have stayed at this Hotel since it was recommended to me by the late and great Jon/JaiDee. At the time a Panarama Suite cost only 1648 Baht a night. Hugh room with a balcony overlooking the Bay and Beach Road. No problem with bringing guests back but only if you book through their web site. Now the place seems to cater a lot more to Indian Tour Groups and Chinese Tour Groups. With the two LB Bars on Soi13/1 you are right in the middle of the action. Should you need breakfast avoid this Hotel and walk about 50 meters up the Soi to the Lek Hotel. A decent buffet breakfast and not too expensive. The last time I eat there it was only 99 Baht. This Hotel has a lot of history to it going back to the R&R days of the Vietnam War. A little worn down to be sure and maybe not everybodys cup of tea but getting a Panarama Suite for peanuts is worth it in my opinion.

I have astayed there a few times both by booking through the internet and walking in and never been charged a guest fee wither way but always ask to be sure.

However I agree with the others there are better hotels at this price point in Pattaya.
