  • walking street, pattaya?

i know which hotels to stay in further north, but wouldn't mind a stint on walking street or within a few minutes walking distance.
any recommendations? (500-1000 baht ish, preferably with a pool)
    thanks.

i've been trawling through reviews but they seem a mixed bag; so would appreciate a good recommendation from you lot.
so far contenders are De La Mer (no pool), Diamond Beach (looks run down), Penthouse (bug problem?)...

Check out the AA Hotel right on Beach Road at Soi 12. Great price, it has suites if you need more space, very guest friendly and a 7 to 10 minute walk from the entrance to Walking Street.

The Kingfisher on Soi Yensabai is a good choice for you. It's Q/P ratio is extremely high. It's on Soi Yensabai so Walking Street is walkable but for anywhere else you'll need the baht bus. Tile floors, in-room safe, empty fridge.

Little rooms were 400, big rooms 600. I prefer the extra space for my holiday, but
for those on the tightest of budgets, a small room will do the trick.

No pool but on the days you want to lap swim, you can use the pool at the Yensabai Condo for 100 baht.
