From what I've read elsewhere they are distinctly "guest UNfriendly" either GG or LB unless one checks in with you when you arrive and she stays with you for your whole stay!

BTW most of the info I read was dated early 2004 and before, so they may have changed their policy since then - does anyone have more up-to-date info ?

No problem at all, stayed there for 10 days in
December 2004.When you registered inn, they remind you to cheek
Your visitors€™ age, and absolutely ALL visitors have to be registered at the front desk,
And the have to bring valid id card, security (American company you know)
But no hassle at all

The scan man may be right here, but in my opinion you are better off staying away from this place;  the rooms are small and they over-charge for everything;  you  are paying for the hard rock name only.  Big deal....same as payin for a Gucci bag or some other useless brand name shit,  Hard Rock is simply a brand name now and as such they can over charge and get away with it.

     I was appalled  when I went there in December to see my friend Michael;  his room was 3800 baht and was just 2 small  beds with a  19-inch TV, nothing special.  we went to my room at the Pattaya Centre with the  king-sized bed, living room, huge bathroom and 1350 baht price tag and he was amazed.

worse yet......when we were sitting by the pool at the Hard Rock some skank came over and asked if we were guests; Michael showed his key and she said fine, but if your friend wants to use the pool he would have to pay 500 baht.  I told her I wouldn't pay her 5 baht to swim in her trendy over-priced shithole pool and  I would rather sit there in my own sweat than give them the satisfaction of paying 12 dollars to swim in a fucking pool.  Assholes.....has anyone else ever heard of a place that charges 12 bucks  for a friend of a guest to swim in the pool??   fuck that rathole.

   Highly un-recommended.......there are better places in Pattaya for half the price and nicer people.  I will laugh the day this place goes out of business and changes hands [and it will] and the new owners charge half the rack rate they are charging now.

very true jaidee,lots of better hotels for a third of the price,i will be staying at the bella vista hotel on moo9 between soi7 and soi 8, 500baht and nice rooms.
no pool but you can use hotel close by pool for a small charge.

Yes you have right abate the prises at Hard Rock Hotel,
we booked 3 rooms in what they call Kings Club, very nice
and large rooms with big living area, fridge, stereo, TV/CD/DVD

OK--no Hard Rock. I usually stay in Pattaya Center Hotel but have been a bit disappointed that the decor is a bit tired and musty.

Where is the Penthouse Hotel? Is it 5-star? 4-star? Other?
