Are Rates Down for Short Time in Pattaya?

When I was in pattya a couple of weeks ago it was really noticeable how quiet everything was and how many ladyboys there were.  Previously I had paid 1000 bhat for short time as not a hansum man but in Hi Boss I was quoted 700 bhat.  Are prices coming down or have I been overpaying in the past?  You would expect competition to drive down prices but I know things don't work like that in Thailand where the price usually goes up when times are hard.

Not sure that the Global Financial Crisis has impacted on the girls at Hi Boss just yet.

However, when it comes to pricing, Hi Boss has always been at the lower end of the market.

I can recall paying the girls in Hi Boss 500 Baht for a ST for many years.

Elsewhere in Pattaya, the rates aren't quite as low IMHO.

Low season has cut deeply into the earnings of many.

I've always thought that 1000 baht was good value for a ST in Pattaya, it seems many will go for less.

Not the goddesses who will always be in demand, they have enough attention to ensure their income, but prices were down for those who hadn't had a customer for a week or so.

Talking with non-BMs who were all affluent travellers, they were shocked to learn I paid more than 500 baht for a ST.

Still, they would be shocked to learn that my beautiful companion wasn't a GG.

I was stopped often late at night by some very persistent girls who did their best to get me to take them.

I fell for the trap of not ignoring their question "how much you pay?"

Thinking to deter them I replied with something like "no money, I only have 200 baht"

They know it is bullshit & they accepted.

There is no free lunch in Thailand & come payment time you know they won't agree & if you don't want trouble, don't fall for it.

The girls first must get a customer by any means, then they will start working on you for more money.

Though having said that there is an accomodation crisis for many & I also had to contend with previous "dates" just wanting to come back to my room for somewhere to sleep.

The text messages for a bed went off all night, eventually I learnt to switch off the phone.

In Hi-Boss I have normally been able to pay 1000 all in - to include the room, bf and girl. Any drinks would of course be be extra to this. I'm into lingerie so sometimes I've paid a bit more when they have dressed in fishnet stockings etc.

I would say 'yes' you have more room to haggle, but is it worth it ?
If the girl offers 1000, and you get her down to 700 do you think you'll have as good a time ?
And 300 Baht is worth a lot more to her, than to you.

However if the girl opens with 700, take it !!! (and then tip for great performance)

Last night -before I was harrased by the nut case- I ask one girl the price for short time and she quoted me 700. Her companion quoted me 500and I went with her. Girl #1 asks how much I agree to pay her and I told her 500. "Why you not say, I go 500 too"

Pretty much on Soi 6 the ST price is 500 If girls get more, good for them they just don't go with Lance

i do agree with Snick on this as well. I have happily paid 1000 but the price quoted this time was 700 so of course I said yes. I have always taken the view that the girls need to eat and I don't like to short change them.

Supply and demand, the economic rules of the world are like gravity. That said, I agree with the guys. Pay the girls what they're worth - you'll find that in general, you get what you pay for a lot of the time.
