what's a joiner fee??? never heard of it.....
A joiner fee is when the hotel will charge you an extra fee on top of your room rate for having someone join you in your room. This can be anything from a few hundred to a thousand or so baht. Definitely find out if your hotel does this before booking and make sure you keep the confirmation that they don't so you can show it to them if the decide to do it anyway.

      Narai Hotel Silom Rd

Within striking distance of Patpong and about 2,600 per night.
One of the last truly Family owned Hotels in BKK. You wont find better friendly service. Ive being staying here for 10 years.

Fantastic all you can eat Buffet Dinner for 360 and the best buffet i have seen. They have a raw fish section, prawns, Mongo Barbecue, Roast Beef, Chinese section, sweets, noodles, soups.... its worth coming just for the buffet.

Never had problem bringing LB back. Get a room with an even number away from traffic noise. Nice pool and Gym... one of the best...room 738 is good.

I maybe wrong but the rates in the website are almost half of what you wrote

I guess they are 2 different Business hotel..
Grand Business Inn,( room looking great !)
and a " budget hotel " Business Inn,( room looking really basic)
That's where they quoted 590 baht for a standard room.
Can't see on the site the price for the room in the Grand Business Inn though...

For tourists and punters on a budget:
I suggest The 27 Hotel on Soi 22. It is in the next small soi to the left off Soi 22 past the entrance into Washington Square.
The cost is 320 baht per night. It has A/C, HBO on the tv, hot water and full width mirrors on the walls if you like to watch yourself while having a shag. Well, the room I stayed in had them on 3 walls and I was told that is the same in most, if not all, other rooms. The 27 was an R&R hotel for enlisted men during the Viet Nam War. Later on it was a brothel. Now, it is just a hotel. There is a small restuarant on the ground floor that is very reasonable for cost. The ladies that work at the desk are very honest and you can use the safe in the office with complete confidence.

                Heidelberg Hotel
                21 Soi 4
                02 252 35 84
                [email protected]

i arrived in bangkok at 11.30 pm and all larger hotels were fully booked, luckily i came upon this gem. A newly renovated hotel above a small bar, rooms have plasma TV high speed connection and look classy.
Best bit of all is the card operated side door and lift, so you do not have to meet anyone on way to room

Price is 1850 Baht incl bfast, a bit pricey but i would go back.

I stayed at the ambassador a few weeks ago, and it was ok, but before stayed at the majestic suites on two occasions in a double-deluxe room and for sure I will stay there next time ( I love my coffee and they have a tea/coffee maker, better than paying 100bht a time for room service), I would highly recommend the majestic suites.

Majestic Suites is a great spot. Stayed there twice on my last trip and everything about the place is good. Do not miss the breakfast and/or lunch buffet. Highly recommended, unless you are on a serious budget.

highly reccommend the JW Marriott, two blocks from NEP for those where money is not an object, $106.00 US pernight, more than acceptable room with a great mirror aongside the bed, fantastic breakfast, pricey though at about $20.00, buffet style, so can stoke up and skip lunch, , absolutely remarkable restaurants on premises, NEW YORK STEAKHOUSE a must, reasonable enough i thought, (on an expense account here), and steaks and chops to die for, cheaper than US for same, hotel totally LB friendly, those with me just had to go thru the metal detector, (new security check, from late oct thru my stay in early nov), no id to show, and in afternoons when i made arrangements for a nooner, , concierge called and after I said o.k., the lady was sent right up without a problem, it's location and amenities make it well worthwhile

Does anyone know if the Dynasty Inn in BKK has in-room safes? It doesn't mention it on their web-site but was just curious.

I have stayed in the Majestic Suites so many times I have lost count, gave the Majestic Grande a go this May 05, excellent, but dearer than it smaller hotel but a definite 4-5star place. I never got charged for over night guests, & took 2 LB's back on some nights, no problems, just hand over there ID's & in they come.

But i don't use 2/3s of what the Majestic Grande has to offer so i went back the Majestic Suites November / december.

I would recomend both to anyone.
                            Robin

You pays your money & takes your chance. This isn't a rehearsal do it now, it's no good looking back when it's a lover & wishing.... ITS TOO LATE.

No in room safes, but safety boxes available at reception desk.
Have used them on numerous ocassions and never had any problems.

Grand China Plaza is a great friendly hotel. Its a little out of the way being in China Town but has 4 entrances, plenty of taxis, great food and for 4 star is good value at $40 Aus per night, even cheaper in a package deal.
For those guys who like to check out other stuff, this location is tops. Close to subway and good shopping. Not to far from the Pong as well.
I have stayed here for the last 8 years and i have always found the staff fantastic.
Therse a little coffee shop just out side reception where the employ the hottest GG i have ever layed eyes. On the ozzie hardo meter there 9's.
