For the first few days of my trip I shared a 1 bedroom condo, at the Q House Complex at Sukhumvit 79, with a ladyboy friend. This could possibly be a good option for those not wanting to stay in the middle of the action or those in Bangkok for a longer stay. The BTS skytrain On Nut Station is right out front and it is about 12 minute ride to Nana Station. Driving can be quicker at night but in day time can take much longer than the train. The only problem with the train is that is gets super packed certain times of day.
The building is certainly ladyboy friendly as many live there. I also noticed guys bringing in overnight guests too. There is security but they are not really checking anyone in or out, just like a regular condo. The one problem i found is you need a key for your condo unit but then also a scan card to get in and out of the front entrances. You have to scan once to get in the gate in front of the building and then scan to get into the elevator area. Problem is you need to scan this card to get out also, this is a pain but at least a ladyboy can't just take off with your stuff very easy.
The location is good there is a huge and cheap Thai BBQ place across the street. The local business such as massage and other places are just a little cheaper than the tourist areas. Also it had a very large nice and quiet pool area.
The unit picture in this thread was 18,000 baht per month plus utilities and deposit, and it has basic furnishings and a washer dryer.
