  • Bangkok & Pattaya Hotels Updates

I had my first trip last year & stayed at the Majestic Grande near Nana then the LK Renaissance in Patts. Can you help me? Being specific....

I loved the Majestic as it was a great location to Nana, ticked all the boxes very smart, nice staff, LB friendly no extras on room. Downside Agoda £51 a night and rooms not enormous.

LK Renaissance, good location so Pook upper could be visited and to be honest Patts it doesnt seem to matter where you are unless I can be enlightened on best location such as Majestic to Nana. Cost around £40 plus a night.

Great room sizes, downside not the newest of hotels and the breakfast side cafe is poor.

If I want the same sort of standard are there any better I should stay at considering my gripes?.

I guess I'm not clear about your gripes. Do you want a larger room? Do you want to be nearer the action? Do you want a lower price? Do you want more luxury?

Each can be had, but not together.

The Areca Lodge in Pattaya and the Dynasty Inn Grande in Bangkok have always been popular among mongers. Both are located in quite close to your previous accomodation.

Sorry not being clear enough. Lets say Bangkok is great & the M G works. Be nicer to get a bigger room for the money. My chum stays at one of the suites but its Soi 23 too far, Okay for cowboy no good for Nana.

Is there a newer version of LK Renaissance in roughly the same area. Same moneyish.

Is that more specific?. I suppose more luxury but roughly same location to LK. Thanks Pentire & DT.

          Clear as

You want more for less and preferably on the doorstep of Nana Plaza.. Closer being better than a taxi ride to nowhere nice. Santa is coming, but next year.

In BKK after years of this and that, I finally settled on 2 options, depending on mood and length of stay.

Dawin soi 4. About the 50 GBP range, rooms not huge, but clean, modern, good location (across from Guess) pool, wifi and great Staff.

Otherwise for longer stays, even a few days, I go for Omni Tower appartments, just down from Dawin and Ibis, soi 4. Through Syncate, you can get good studio/1BR appartment same rates (even cheaper) than hotels. 50GBP for a 1BR. Either on a daily or monthly basis.

If you are interested Bobcat I can PM you direct contact of the manager there whom I'm sure will look after you.

Patts..I'm not a regular but did stay recently at Areca Lodge (original Bldg) and found it very satisfactory, if a little far from Walking St action..
I think kahuna and a few other good BMs had a thread about appartments/Guest Houses in Patts recently that contained all you'd need to know on that score

Did you exchange a walk-on part in the war for a lead role in a cage

hi Bobcat I would stay at MG in BKK if you can afford it or if you want to pay more try the landmark or JW Marriott down the street but MG is great and cheaper. Also you cant beat the location of LK Ren in Patts and if you can afford it stay there. I love soi Burkao and I love the Pook upper and I like walking around the Promenade etc. Cant beat the hotel and the location

Last time I checked, internet access at MG was very expensive.

Thanks Guys, The MG with Agoda is not bad. I think its about £51.00 a night. Lovely rooms the best location and LB friendly. Drawback is the rooms are standard size. If you are prepared to book with a no cancellation formula then it ticks the box. I will check out the Areca & Dynasty Inn Grande.

Any other recommendations will be greatfully received.........

Now just counting down the days. I am armed with my S95 thanks once again and will report as best I can without being swept away by the whole place.

there are some fine ladyboy-friendly options available now in Patts, plenty of choice for hotels.

I'd like to see as much options in Phuket

I booked Adelphi for my upcoming stay. Booked through Manarek's site as it's the same Agoda rate but also helps a fellow BM.

yes it helps and you get the same great prices as on Agoda itself.

one advantage is that through my site you can choose specific hotels, while Agoda scrapped that feature, I don't know why.

And I try to provide real added value, so if any of you have Ideas how I could further improve my service, I will listen!

Does anyone know if the Phachara Hotel Soi 6 Bangkok is guest friendly. It is not on Manarak's list so I assume it is not. Does anyone know for sure?
