(nylonmanus @ Oct. 18 2008,16:13) I noticed a new construction last month on Soi 4. Almost opposite Dynasty Inn and next to Guess Bar Car Park. The guy on security told me it was  a new hotel under construction
I understand it's an extension to the Nana Hotel so maybe after they complete it they will refurbish the old place........ or better still demolish it!

Nana used to have a reputation for anything goes.  Back before 2001 the "suites" at the Nana hotel were decent.  LB's, GG's could come and go no questions asked, a lot of times they could come straight to your room after dropping their ID card off at the security desk across from the elevators.  Back then it was known as the "Boom Boom Hotel"  and some of the older girls at Big Dogs still call it that.

I have seen girls come straight out of Angels Disco and go up in the hotel knocking randomly on doors because they didn't find anyone and the Disco was closing.

But that was back then, now there are ST rooms that are nicer than the Nana.  Back then I just think it was something I did because of its reputation.

Nowadays I have heard that Security harasses the LB's, so if that is where you plan on staying you might rethink it. I have never had a problem at the Marriott or Dynasty Grande which are both in the same area.  Some folks I know also stay at the Majestic Suites but I have never stayed there.

I have not stayed at the Nana in years, but the reservations clerk Jaruwan is a good friend and she is writing a book about the exploits of the Nana hotel and I can't wait until she gets it published.  It should be interesting reading.

(Stogie @ Oct. 17 2008,20:53) I'd be embarrassed to bring a ladyboy back there. Basically; you are saying that you are a 'cheap charlie' with the sophistication of a soccer fan.

But if you are on a budget and were blessed to be born without the 'shame' gene then it's perfect.
I had to laugh at that one...nothing says 'sex-tourist on a budget' louder than a room at Nana.

I just booked at the Aspen Suites. I've never stayed at Nana but have stayed at the Omni towers, Dynasty, DIG, and Majestic Suites. After staying at the Dynasty a few times I decided I prefer not being so close to the action. I did have a reservation at the Darwin for my next trip but have not heard enough about it to feel comfortable with that selection so I canceled and booked with Aspen Suites.

I'm just back from a 2-week stay at Aspen. Very nice hotel - good choice

slightly out of the action but still only a short walk to Soi 4. New rooms, widescreen tv, DVD player, in-room kitchenette, free internet, big bathroom, very nice staff and, despite reports otherwise, decent food.

DIG is still a fine hotel but I fancied a change

              Enjoy your stay Stonefre

That's good to hear. I've been happy with Majestic Suites, but a friend suggested Aspen after he stayed recently. I'm comfortable with a short walk to the usual haunts...apparently Guess is easily accessed through the Rajah Hotel carpark.

Yes I can confirm that.  Just as you reach the Dynasty Inn Grand you can turn right through the Rajah car park and reach Nana that way.

At the moment the Rajah has building work in the car park so you have walk around 3 sides of  a fenced off area it to get to the Guess Bar.
Altrnatively if you're lazy cut through the Rajah Hotel reception and come out of the Rajah Mansion entrance door right near the Guess bar.
