  • Help me decide between 3 hotels!

Flying to los in october, i've narrowed down three choices for the first couple of nights in bkk.

any input on my three choices, as to best would be great.
    1. Majestic grande

    2.Dynasty inn grande

    3.Omni towers

i have stayed in the majestic grande last year and feel that it was good value.
The three hotels all seem good value , internet rates.
    cheers
i'm going where the sun keeps shining.................

Flip a coin...I always stay at the Dynasty Inn Grande...and I like it...but they know me there and that makes it a bit more comfortable for me...

But fellow BM's speak highly of the Majestic Grande and the Omni...

As my memory serves me, as far as cost is concerned, the Majestic is at the high end and the Omni the low with the DIG in the middle...

All three are in great locations for a short walk to Guess and NEP action...as well as BTS...I don't think you will go wrong with any of these selections...

    Enjoy...

Any of the 3 are perfect choices IMO.

Majestic Grande is the classiest (and nearest to Guess Bar/Nana Plaza) - you can get some good deals on 'Asia Rooms' etc.   Watch out for the high internet access charge, though.

Dynasty Grande was my regular choice in recent years, always good ... but maybe overpriced now for low season (unless the free internet access in room is a clincher for you)

And I stayed at Omni for about 2100 baht (Agoda) recently - rooms a bit older, but studio had plenty of facilities and lots of space.

All 3 are LB friendly, but Dynasty seems to have the largest collection of ID cards at Reception each morning.   If you see what I mean

I too am arriving mid October, and had come to the same conclusion regarding the top three choices. PLanet Holiday has decent rates on the Majestic Grande. Haven't found much in the way of discounts on the Dynasty. Guess I'll have to study a little more.

Omni Towers have their low season special offer running now http://www.the-ascott.com/specials/c....html?did=8655

If you're interested in staying there, it is probably a good idea to register as a member here http://www.the-ascott.com/myascott/index.html

Ostensibly this entitles you to a members discount on the rack-rates.

Majestic Grand is my favourite place when staying in Bangkok.Apart from the top location it is extremely guest- (ladyboy)friendly The bellboycrew is just smiling and cheering when I am marching in with sometimes even 3 LBs on my towrope.
The room rates are on the higher side but the service (Internet , newspapers, laundry etc) is great and you have an excellent buffet breakfast (included) provided you make in time (which I rarely do).Taking your LB (s) with you for breakfast needs some courage or an extreme careless attitude as the Arabs with their families and the other tourist (mostly US)will certainly gawk at you and your entourage.(It´s not everybodies case , but for me it´s fun)
The superior rooms have great space, see pic

have stayed at the DIG and the Omni,
while the DIG is great, for the prices on offer at the Omni looks like that will be my port of call this next trip as i found the service and the rooms (while a little old) great

I a great place 5 min walk if you doing it in the middle of the day 10 minutes at night looking at all the sites.

They are friendly staff never mention what they have seen the night before , however they will ask for id card.

Very nice hotl as well equipped and clean.

(landslide48 @ May 20 2008,12:43)  Haven't found much in the way of discounts on the Dynasty.
All the Dynasty inn group in both BKK and Pattaya only seem to let you book through their own website and don't offer any reduced rates .

Ive stayed in both BKK hotels a few times and the Pattaya Dynasty Inn but personally I think they are getting overpriced nowdays compared to other options .

i have stayed at DIG quite a few times, great hotel love the pool.
but as Jim says it is a bit overpriced but worth it for a couple nights before you go home.

I find the Majestic Suites to be the best value in town...ive stayed there 4 times in the last 18 months and paid no more than 1400 baht, top flight rooms (though a bit smallish, similar to a Hyatt in fit n finish), and great location in relation to nana...not as big or fancy in the common areas, but if you are like me, you dont spend any time in the common areas except as long as it takes me to walk from the elevator to the front door on my way to nana (and now guess, since i didnt know about it before).
