The Pay4Play scene in Chiang Mai is very subdued compared with the likes of Bangkok & Pattaya.

As long as you are discreet, and have booked a double or twin room, I don't think you'll strike any trouble returning to your hotel with a ladyboy or GG in tow.

Here are a few suggestions, although not all in the price bracket you refer to, and not all right next to the old city, but not that far from it either.

I generally stick to Pornping Towers for Ladyboy pursuits or make use of a short time hotel. Rob69in (RIP) also used to stay there.

My Thai wife is from Chiang Mai, so I have to be a little discreet as I know alot of staff in many of the other hotels we stay in together.

I know that a number of LB enthusiasts from this site have made use of the Imperial Mae Ping Hotel before.

I was booked into the raming lodge hotel earlier this month, no pool though

It was a good hotel and near everywhere you want to be

I pre-booked at double- deluxe 2500baht per night (free transfer from airport and back) and one morning a receptionist was showing a walk-in couple a room and I overheard her say the rooms are normally 2500baht but we can do discount for you at 1500baht per night

No problems with my ladyboy companion, well not from the hotel anyway

I have stayed at the Chiang Mai Gate Hotel for years always treated me well. It is off the main road but has a van to night market nightly about 1500baht. and free breakfast. A short walk to some of the bars.

Go to Chiang May Princess, best location (begin of Loi Kroh), nobody controls whom you take upstairs (the elevator is even out of sight of reception).Reasonable prices, see their website.
