Looks like they bought the "wrist bands" in bulk from Alibaba
I wonder how much Thailand will charge for these? Probably sold for a profit.
STDs are probably more of a problem than COVID, does it test for these?

Slick salesmen got Thailand again. Let's talk to Thailand, they will buy anything.

I am guessing the picture on the news article is lifted from Alibabba. That's not unusual for pattayaone news...I've seen them use completely wrong pics in articles that they lifted elswhere.

It is ridiculous though... the way it's described, that band would know if it's on person or not and probably would rat you out. Maybe strap it to a street dog and let them think your heart rate is racing all the time.

I am not so sure that they (SE Asian countries in general) don't have so many deaths. They are probably tracking forreigners to charge them for the nxt wave if they need to lock down or decide whatever unpopular measure they have to decide.

Who has all the deaths then? Thailand has almost no cases and no first wave. Most SE Asian countries are the same.
Who is going to Thailand if there is chance you would have to pay them if you caught something, that makes no sense at all.
Having covid health insurance should cover your medical costs.

This idea is stupid because if you do the 14 day quarantine then get a wrist watch, this means you tested negative mutiple times.
So if you catch covid, you are probably getting it from a Thai. Foreigners probably won't be giving it to anyone.
If you catch Covid from a Thai you shouldn't be responsible for anything, but the fact is they can't prove where you got it.
Plus they also want to do this for general tracking like they have always dreamed. Once it starts, it won't go away.

What a joke Thailand is. Who wants to go to a country with all these restrictions, especially for something we can now manage.
Old rich people are so scared they are ruining the world.

Thailand has a captive audience of tourists which they will lose.
Mexico, Central America, most of South America and the Caribbean are all open with no restrictions.
Who the fuck needs Thailand if they are so scared of us and want to track us so badly.

Imagine how the regular Thai people are suffering without us. The lockdown is causing them far more issue than the virus.
Just like most places the cure is worse than the virus.

Do they send the police if you take it off? If it malfunctions or gives a false report your vacation is ruined.
What if your blood pressure or pulse gets to high do they send and ambulance?
Maybe you can just hire some Thai to wear it for you.

I wouldn't put it past them to order some cheap watches from Alibaba and reprogram them.
Does anyone remember the fake bomb detectors that Thailand bought?
Maybe these things will work for covid too.....

Thailand fell victim a decade ago to a scam run by British fraudsters selling the 'GT200' detector, a useless home-made plastic box with a radio antenna -- made for a few dollars but sold for between $3,300-$13,000 per unit.
From 2008, Thai security forces bought around $20 million worth of the ineffectual equipment.

No doubt a vaccine passport will be next. Seems the Thai government has lost its marbles. Will you be allowed to remove it if you want to take a hot bath, sauna, have sex, etc. They will certainly kill tourism with the wristband.

Thai Tourism Authority to discuss travel bubble with no quarantines with China before Chinese New Year

The move towards China. They spend some money and they don't cause problems. Funny they go into a bubble with the country that started the pandemic.
China makes the west look really bad and swoops right in.

However Mainland Chinese don't tip or spend much on entertainment. They definitely don't spend too much time in red light areas.
They stay in Chinese owned hotels and get shuttled around by Chinese tour companies. They don't buy much stuff from locals but will buy trinkets from approved Chinese vendors. So they do spend some money but not much of it gets down to the average Thai person.

They also don't have much respect for manners or trampling tourist attractions. Just look at them ruin a beautiful beach just milling around.
                They love the herd mentality.

Thailand won't open for years at this rate.
If you go and catch covid, you will be in the newspapers.

One person tested positive in the whole country and they get their own news article.
He is an Indian National, of course. They will scare you about foreigners, but what about locals?
Chances are they caught it from a Thai person, but foreigners will get the blame.

This just shows how it is not that serious. Thailand is over compensating for nothing.
Just like here Covid is more important than anything else. In Thailand it isn't serious and not getting so.
Thailand thinks they beat it but Thais are probably less suseptible. Plus probably many Thais have it and just don't know.

I've never seen humans panic over anything like now. If aliens show up on earth will everyone just give up and commit suicide?
The panic is beyond the disease. The governments all love the authoritarianism....they just keep feeding the fear.
Fear is used for control. However who is really scared?

I am not fretting about Thailand any longer. Its what it is. With the political unrest occurring now, the govt will milk the lockdowns/ restrictions and so on to the max. The govt has a loaded gun on its own foot at the moment. Razor wire and busses are being set up to block protests, rather than discussions and diplomacy. Its only going to escalate further until something gives one way or another.

To turn this economy around from freefall will be legalizing weed and getting the harvests growing asap. Tourism won't save them now as it will take a while to wind up again.

                      Hopefully 2021 won't be like 2014.

Thailand is making the same mistake as most governments. Panic decisions not based on facts.
They will announce 1 case of covid in the news but you don't hear about hundreds of people dying of other stuff.
There is many serious health issues in Thailand that dwarf covid, why don't you hear about those?

If you are going to annouce some deaths and sickness, why not show it all?

I don't see the above as panic decisions but worse than that. It's just what we call here "com" in other words the transposition to the early 21st century of what propaganda was in the first half of the 20th. Indians are good targets. For Thai people, they are Foreigners and for Farangs, they are "Untermenschen". The message is "we care but uncivilized people bring us a lot of problems".

Yep don't go to Thailand. If you catch covid from a Thai they will blame and track you.
This poor Indian guy that tested positive is a top new story. One case and the panic ensues.
Just proves Thailand has no serious problem and possibly the citizens could have some previous immunity.

If you get tested when entering and quarantine for 14 days then you would have to have caught it from a Thai person.
However seems that a foreigner is portrayed as the main culprit somehow. Stupid Thailand. Land of Stupidity. LOS.

They could recognize they don't actually have a problem and get their tourism industry back to work.
As long as they shame individuals like this, who wants to go there? I already have enough shame at home.

They allow hundreds and thousands to die of drunk driving during one week during New Years and Songkran.
Imagine if they put this kind of effort into something that is actually a problem. Drunk driving is a real problem in Thailand.

Seems they made him test to renew his work permit. So most foreigners would be subject to this when renewing documents.

On Wednesday (November 4th) he went to a hospital for his work permit and tested positive. He is now being treated at Krabi Hospital.

Some douche named jaguar banned me from ladyboyspattaya because i mentioned the article about weed. When i asked why they were being so hypocritical about saying that I shouldn't be talking about marijuana laws, in a published news article, the argument was because retail sales are "not legal in Thailand" however their whole forum is about whoremongering, whores and prostitution and pornography which is also illegal in Thailand, making their argument accademic; they didn't see it my way. Said didnt need "the likes of me" (still laughing about that one) What a bunch of prissy fux.No loss as i was using that and other forums to help boost SanFrancisco, but at this point promoting is moot.
