I'd love to 'have a go' but I'd be scared to death!

But 30K Pounds seems like a decent deal for a nice yacht...

Anyone out there able to work one of these things?

stogie bear, thanks for letting me have this here, I had no idea myself when i brought her how to sail, i hired a guy from Malaysia to sail back to the Philippines with me but can certainly tell you it is a great thing to have but does cost a few bob and a bit of time, if i sell through this sites link i guarantee stogie a night out on me with as much as he can drink and 2 lb bar fines or as i prefer i will pay the 2 street crawlers if in Bangkok, if pattaya 2 bar fines me old ship mate. As soon as sold i intend to be in Thailand for a month or 3. cheers again

Hey oilbaron, would an interested passenger from the Philippines (hint-hint), with no potential buying power at all, qualify as what you call "timewaster"?

Import as far as I remember will cost you nowt unless you are Thai, Also there is a beautiful tax free island right below Phuket called Langkawi, If you are Thai it will still cost you nowt as long as you sail her there once a year, (about a days sail not including lb activity along the way) unless you use the auto pilot

as for the passenger above this post I have looked through your history files and think you would be more than welcum on board no fees either way, we could do some pi cruising, i think the islands here would be perfect!

If I did it - my plan would be to keep it at Ocean Marina in Jomtien - which makes a day trip to Langkawi a bit difficult. I think they are free of tax to import (I would have to import and register if I did it), along with the required Thai captain (on the books at least).

                    Cheers

Thai captain needed huh? I'm a US Coast Guard licensed 100 ton captain ...which carries zero weight in Thailand I'm sure. I took a LB on a dive trip last year out of Phuket and have to say she wasn't the best on the water I can just picture these beautiful LB's hanging over the rail feeding the fish and begging to get back to terra firma. ...
                        ....so,  you're really a guy?..............

Freddie mercury's? Hmmm, British slang, oilbaron?
My apologies but did I mention I humbly come from a Third World country?
