    Hi,

Have any Aussies on here flown jetstar to Bkk?

How is the flight like i.e seats. Are they same like any international carrier?

Apparently 60000 Qantas ff points will get me from Melbourne to bkk return.

    Will appreciate any feedback.

I flew Jetstar last time to BKK which was back in July. I had no problems at all. Crew were friendly enough, service was good. The only down part was having to pay for you food and entertainment (I flew on points also). However given the flights are so cheap having to pay for a drink or two is no problem.

I think i will only fly JetStar now , prices are brilliant , only pay for what you want , and the planes are half full can stretch out and really relax for a change

I have been told by a friend that just flew Jetstar that their seats are leather and a bit bigger than Qantas seats. The food was good also.

          cheers

The wife is flying Melb-BKK with Jetstar on Sunday, she booked a FF points flight and didn't get a choice of Qantas or Jetstar, she's happy though the flight is direct and not via Sydney.
I'll be sending her off with a packed lunch, a cask of Chardy and a good book, that should keep costs down.
Anyway the good news is I get mine on 17September, a week (solo) in BKK/PTY. Flying Thai for what it's worth.

yeah im flying with jetstar for the first time next thursday, cost me $800 return, so took the chance at that price,
a friend flew last year and apart from the entertainment thing (aparantly there were not enough video sets for every one) and the service she said because of the price you dont mind.

              so fingers crossed

no Donnnny that was including tax, had set myself the budget of $1000, dollars for a flight and looked at first as if i had lucked out, as the cheapest i wa offered was $1289 with thai, but the girl at flight centre did a bit of a search and bingo, jetstar and BKK here i come,

hopefully it will get even better once tiger gets up and running, as could be a war on between them and jetstar for pricing, so lucky old us lot,

                  cheers

Thanks for the replies guys. I booked jetstar for feb next year for 60000 Qantas FF point plus $306 taxes and charges. If anything happens in the meantime and I cant go i get a full refund and points back less 5000 as a penalty. Which is fair enough.

                    Thanks again.

picked up a flight on Jetstar for

$434 return to BKK from Melbourne including taxes....

No i am not kidding everyone...deadly serious

It was during their birthday sale....

I am not expecting too much from them, but at that price
                      who cares~~

                      Only 9 weeks to go~~~

I affectionately call them shitstar ... for my own reasons

But at the price i got i will give them a go~~

Cant wait for airasia X to begin~~
KL is a much better hug to travel through Asia than
                      Singapore (tiger)

However, will still be looking forward to cheap $500 combo flights to Singapore on Tiger

Next 12-24 months should be a great time for us Aussies

                      with

                      Jetstar (shitstar)
                      Airasia X
                      Tiger

                      Competition should be fun

                      Azza

                      A worthy trip report

Hi Mate flew last year and again this year with Jetstar the flight and aircraft were great plenty of room. the crew were great 60% Thai staff, which is a bonus. The only small issue is that the serving of meals and the drink runs take for ever because of the cash transactions going on. I look at the progress of the flights to BKK and Jetstar are very rarely more than 10 minutes late on arrival.

                        Hope this helps

Going back Oct 20 and flying Tiger from Darwin believe it or not return from Darwin to BKK cost me $360.00 including taxes.

                        Cheers mate

                        Regards

                        Tony
