August 12th and 13th are thai public holidays because it is the Queen's birthday. Does anyone know whether bars and clubs will be closed on these days? I am planning a long weekend in Phuket that includes these dates so would appreciate any information.

Pentire is correct about the bars being closed on the actual Queen's birthday, which is Aug 12. Most bars will be open on Aug 13, which is a declared public holiday and not the official holiday.

I bought 2 years ago, just want to let people know we are here to accomodate any who would like to stay in Patong Beach. Â There are more ladyboys here now than I have seen in the past. Â We are definitely lb friendly with no joiner fees at any time.

I'm currently in Chiang Mai and the bars were def closed last night (12). I almost gave up when I saw a number of street walkers. Ended up with one cute one - pics will follow once I'm back home (after 8/21). She stayed LT for 1K and she was sweet ... :-)

Well SB, don't expect too much - and I guess u want me to add the ones I'll take in Pattaya and BKK, so be patient :-)
BTW, my laptop came up with a problem - is there a way to get an English XP or VISTA? installed somewhere along the road, otherwise I will have to wait for China. If I get it fixed, I could post pics frpm The Bay Resort Hotel in Pattaya :-) Of course I'll be happy to pay for getting it fixed ...

There is an IT center in Pattaya not too far from the Pattaya Bay Resort. Any computer vendor in there will be happy to install any operating system of your choose on your laptop for a couple of hundred Baht. As it will be a pirated copy it'll work fine but I'd recommend XP and NOT Vista if you go this route.
