Scenery change

I've stayed at nearly all the better Hotels in Bangkok over the years , so I thought id look for a change of scenery . Has anyone stayed at the following hotels and cares to share their experience . The hotels in question are , the Royal Meridien , Plaza Athene Hotel on wirelss and the Sofitel Residence - Asoke Bangkok on Sukhumvit

Oh! just realized that one of the hotels is wrong , im thinking of the Grand Sukhumvit by Sofitel Hotel Bangkok not the the Sofitel Residence - Asoke Bangkok on Sukhumvit

I stayed at the Plaza Athenee during my May trip. The main reason I picked it was because I was using Starpoints and made the reservations before they jumped up in category. It's in a good location, 5 minute walk to BTS, about 15 minutes walk to Nana. No problems bringing guest back. The rooms are a little worn and in need of renovation which I was told is being planned. Beds are hard as rock, no free internet, wi-fi in the lobby and pool area is 425Baht/hr which is a rip-off. I've stayed at the Westin Grande on Sukhumvit a few times and it's a much better hotel. If/when the renovation takes place at the Athenee I would take another look at it, until then I'll stay someplace else.
